1970 Lancia Fulvia 1600HF Lusso
Hi guys,
I just wanted to share my new purchase with you, namely that of a 1970 Lancia Fulvia 1600HF Lusso. I cannot thank Ed Levin enough for all his superb advice and patience with my endless endless questions during the purchasing process! If anyone is ever thinking of purchasing such a car make sure you consult Ed! I purchased the car from Frank and Santo Spadaro who own Domenick's in White Plains NY which is an absolutely fascinating place as at anytime you will see any number of exotic Italian cars. Frank and Santo are great guys and there knowledge concerning Italian cars and all their nuances is unparalleled.
The car has been sitting for a bit of time and thus will need some mechanical revamping, but all the important parts are present and I hope to have the car roaring around by the spring. I'll post pictures as the various systems are restored to operating strength.

Congrats - I really like the 1600 HF Lussos and almost got a ochre one out of the UK a couple of years ago. They are rare Fulvia birds with only 3,690 built and for sure offer even more spritied driving with the added hp and torque.
Very scary though to buy based on Mr. Levin's advice ...
... kidding ...

Nice to see the Fulvia's are still coming around. Maybe the gold chromed rims need a repaint in silver to match the red/black car but I know some like the very 70' look.
It's a very cool snap of the two dark coupe's (my favourites) squeezing the agrume giallo Fiat.

Hey, Mike, is this the "ochre" 1600HF you're talking about? I nearly went after it myself. That was around 2005, and it's still about the only one I've seen in giallo HF.

And, yes, you know what they say about free advice--worth every penny...

Yes, this is/ was the car. Love that 70's giallo HF. I think yours for around 7,000 pounds in 05, less than $15k in these days (I think the Pound was very strong back then) if I recall correctly and I thought a steal for a rare HF Lusso - Surely also driven by the fact that it was a Euro LHD model in the UK.
It seemed a nice car, nicely documented (including the rust repairs), pretty much all stock. Also the dealer was very pleasant to deal. I dug out some pics from the exchange with him.
Past on it and got the Junior Z. Probably one of the ones that fall in the "regret" bucket. Thinking of it, we should start a threat with all the "Could have been" cars - Cars we came close buying but then did not and now regret it.
Hans, very nice choice again!

I hear Bill Dempke in St Helens has a HF that he might sell, or not . . . Understand it was at the last Forest Grove Concorse. I missed it. Guess he won't take my Fiat in trade. Darn. But I'm still thinking of his old Jr Z that is floating around. Pole Barn / Jr Z / Pole barn / Jr Z. . .

I saw Bill's HF at FG. It is a beaut. He did mention that he might sell it - but I think he wanted to sell it only as a set with a Zagato he also has.
Might have changed his mind, since.

What does he want to sell? Is it a 1600HF Lusso? Also what is the Zagato in the pack? A Fulvia Sport or a Junior Z?
Maybe one of us should talk to him ...

He no longer has the Jr z but you can call him about the HF at 503-397-4296. Just don't say where the number came from until I get my car back.

Reason: Yes, he did say he wants to sell the HF and Zagato Sport together.

Hi guys,
Many thanks for the replies! I just can't wait to get things going, but know that I shall need patience. I'm including a pic of the interior and the engine.
