Fiat 500 Sport Vendrame
Would someone be so kind as to illustrate me on this car. I find it really beatifull and had never seen anything like it, obviously based on a Fiat 500 with a special body, but more information would be appreciated. Please see link below.
Autoclassic
Thanks you

This car is based on a Fiat Topolino. I do not know if the modifications were done in 1952, as the website says, or if it is a modern creation, done in the style of 1952. I have a LOT of photos of special bodied Fiat Topolino based race cars from the late 1930s through the early 1950s, but nothing on this car.

This page shows at least one photo that seems to be a period photo plus a couple of pictures form the restoration. Those leas me to believe the car is not a modern recreation
1952 Fiat 508 S Mille Miglia 500 Sport Vendrame for sale: Anamera
There also is an article on the car, but it seems to be in Italian and is difficult to read

I have seen this thread today.
I can give you some informations about this little car, i saw it last year at Automoretṛ exhibition in Torino.
The 508 Vendrame was built on a 1938 chassis 500 A, type crossbow short (balestra corta), No. 040806. It was fitted out in a barchetta sport, in duralumin, by Tullio Vendrame of Mareno di Piave (Treviso), in 1949, for Francesco Giacomini of Padua who wanted to participate in the Mille Miglia. The work was completed in 1952, but in the meantime the owner died. Was then sold to Giles Motti, who used it in some races and in the Cup of the Dolomites. The car was sold several times and in 1961 the last buyer kept it in the garage for 30 years. The engine is distinguished by the adoption of a special head prepared by the firm Marino Brothers of Turin, which also changed the connecting rods and pistons.
Engine: 4 cylinder - 626 cc - 26 hp at 4,600 g / m - 145 km / h.
The car was completely restored by recovering the original color pale blue, after it was painted twice with two different tones of red. And so appeared on that magazine.

Thanks for the information. I still believe it's a gorgeous car, but the asking price at the time was I believe $125,000, which seemed a little steep. I have seen it again for sale somewhere else.

You welcome, Henry.
I'm a new user here, if i ask for something i want to share every information i have. And i live in Turin, a "special place" for the cars...
As i told you before, i saw the Vendrame at the last Automoretṛ, the car passed from a dealer to another, so its price increased.
That dealer bought some beautiful vehicles at auctions, during the past years, so he must recover the investment made before. This means that the car proposed by him will have prices higher, always.
Anyway, the Vendrame is in pristine condition.

I have also sat in the car and it is VERY small inside- you cannot be more than 5' 5" (1.65m) tall in order to drive it!

Yes, the car is very very little inside, like many others fiat/etceterinis too.
