Fact is that the traders have bought up all favorable weighing. Now it is tried from every scrap metal to do the big money.
Of all Ebay
Tatsache ist, dass die Händler alle günstigen Wägen aufgekauft haben. Jetzt wird es probiert aus jedem Schrott das großes Geld zu machen. Alles Ebay

Bad, bad times to sell anything that is not perfect ... especially in the sub $200k segment.
Good for parts = good for pennies. From my perspective, the market for really nice stuff has dried up as owners seem to hold on to them. More and more mid- and low-end is flooding the market. And dealers are notoriously slow to adjust to reality. Who could blame them ...
Love the Moretti TdM though - Very thin market - For the type of car and for condition.

I've seen more photos of Kevin's Moretti and it is certainly one of the best project cars I've encountered in a long time - unmolested, original and complete (as far as I can see). Not for me as I rely upon shops (too costly for this type of car), but it would make a great personal project. There are lots of cool details that evoke the big money cars.
My advice was Bring a Trailer. Good luck, Kevin.

Thanks Don!
Like I've said, if it wasn't financially necessary, I wouldn't be selling the car. It's got loads of character, and it means a great deal to me personally. Life doesn't always allow you to choose the ideal situation, unfortunately.

Good luck with it - I am with Don: If I had the talent to do some sophisticated work on cars, this would be a neat one to restore to perfection and be the talk of the town in Carmel in 2012.
Sadly, I am talentless and break more on my cars than I fix ...

Hm, just looked through the two earlier links, browsing the Moretti models. Holy crap, very, very nice cars. I was not familiar with anything outside the 750MM or the big 2500 (One for sale in LA right now).
Somehow, I missed the designer of the TdM. Who was it? And, the early 500/ 600/ 750 coupes look like they have Stabilimenti Farina body. Wrong?

Mike, according to the Kruse description for the Tour du Monde that ran up to $15k at Monterey in 2005, bodies are by Ghia ( Kruse International)

500? There was no 500.
Stabilimenti Farina? I guess no.

Aha. Kruse! One of those knowledgeable specialists ..... ( talking about things knowing nothing about it, but allways thinking every day is a day an idiot is awaking)
My guess: Giovanni Michelotti.

Michelotti is the man
According to Alberto Fornai: "Giovanni Michelotti 1921-1979" p90, Michelotti designed several bodystyles for the Moretti 750 cars. There's a photo of a spider version of the car owned by Dansk.

My initial guess would also have been Vignale/ Michelotti period. Thanks for the clarification.
The car for sale in LA is a '61 2500SS, same than your avatar pic. Raymond Milo offered it. I do not know who will handle his estate and the cars he advertised now after his passing away. He was asking $80k but has been known to initially price "optimistically".

Thanks for the information
An article in The Car Guys by Ann Herold, June 10, 2007 gave me a ( superficial ? ) impression of Raymond Milo. A name of a person sometimes coming to my ears, but whenever heard in the past it was the name only without any meaning.
You're finding me lightly confused with the information of a 1961 Fiat-Moretti 2500 SS ( that is nothing else than a Fiat 2300 S Coupe chassis - Ghia/Sartorelli - with a body handmade by Moretti and some work done to the engine).
Confused?
Yes, of course. The first 2500 SS was made in 1962/3 and not in the year of 1961. To put one puzzle to another it could be an interesting note to know the VIN of the named car.
Just to add on
