Old series of pictures.
First one is an F40 replica.

And some are pictures of barnfinds at dealers who are selling them or are parked at a restauration shop.

This Aston Martin is at the dealer who had it for sale : http://www.geenstijl.nl/archives/ima...9_supercar.jpg

You're right, of course. The maroon Maserati 3500GT was found in Egypt (I think) about 10 years ago - Classic and Thoroughbred 'Lost & Found'. I believe it has a gaudy deerskin interior? Still an interesting collection - I love the matching chrome bumper Corvette Stingrays (not very Italian though)!

The British CAR magazine featured an interesting article on Lamborghini's 'back lot' in about 1988, with dozens of pictures of rotting classic Lamborghini's (including the Mazal (spelling?) showcar). It made my heart skip a beat! I think it was quickly 'cleaned up', probably by collectors.

I am absolutely speechless !!! Talk about Rust in Peace. Who could honestly allow this to occur. Especially given the calibre of some of these cars. It just staggers me. At least my classics ('69 GTV, Giulia Super and Fiat 124 Sport)are loved, under cover and slowly being restored back to their glory, albeit they are not in the same league as the majority of those super cars. You aim high Nik! Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained - the rewards for that kind of persistance can be very high.

Possibly of interest to you, near the centre of the city were I live (Adelaide, Australia), there was a metallic green Ferrari 330GT sitting on the side of the road, down a backstreet, for over 15 years. Amazingly, aside from being quite weathered, it was in good condition - badges were still in place, and vandal free! I believe it belonged to a local lawyer, definately not for sale...I think it has been moved now, but I'll go back and see if I can get a picture of it. It was quite a sight, but also well known locally.

Cheers,
Duane

This Pantera and the Espada in the background are two of many desirable cars left to fend off the onslaught of weather on their own by the intolerable Sultan of Brunei or probably rather Jefri, his even more intolerable brother.

never held any Sultan's in high esteem with the exception of these.

one more thing

there's a Miura in similar taste in Athens greece somewhere, the guy won't sell it, gear box out of the car. In order to tackle a project like that u need BIG money imagine if t/s cams are expensive what will u expect off a Miura.
the bottom line is another unfinished project.
i met a kid at the alfa meet with a pretty straight bertone in barn condition.
the kid was talking i'll do this i'll do that- with what? fake money?
even if you tackle a project yrself it still is a lot of dough for tools not forgeting a lot of reading of the alfabb archive. i adore the miura and the ferraris but let's face it i can't afford a single factory wrench...leave this to the big league so the little thing survives a few more yrs

Sultan of Brunei

This man - by the way his real name is Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Al-Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Almarhum Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien
don't take care of his cars ...
o.k. so far .... but this means to do a hard job!
But what would you do instead of him?

He owns about 3000 up to 5000 cars!
Several "one off" handcrafted Ferrari and so on ...
And if you would be able to buy round about 35 brand new Rolls Royce - that is exactly what this person does every year - you would worry about a 30 year old Lamborghini Espada or a DeTomaso?
I guess ... NEVER.
