Sorry, no; it's altogether too much hyperbole to call it a "death sentence of sorts". If nothing else, it devalues the idea of an actual death sentence.

While you may considerate it an over the top comparison or a devaluation of an "actual death sentence," I respectively, disagree with your opinion.
How many rape survivors do you personally know that deal with what happened to them every day of their remaining life? Further, she has two daily reminders of her 18 year prison that suffer the same fate.
He truly deserves more than a death sentence....that is too kind for what he has done to these three lives, plus who knows how many numerous others.

Sounds as though it's time to start a "do you believe in an 'over-the-top' death sentence"
Alex????

I'll just leave that to someone else...truth be told, I don't believe in the death penalty at all, for any reason.
However, I DO believe in an ancient form of penalty (for crimes like murder, kidnapping, assault and rape) wherein the victim(s) and/or the victim(s) family and/or victim or family-appointed proxy get 30 minutes in a sealed room with the perpretrator if they wish. They can go in and forgive the offender, talk to the offender, or take whatever action they see fit, provided they do not kill the offender or cause his death. The victim's representative and/or victim are otherwise protected from prosecution and/or civil lawsuit.
Oh, and he/she still gets to serve out the rest of life behind bars.

I don't think I'll get anywhere trying the grasp the concept of "more than a death sentence". So I believe I'll just stick with Alex on this one.

Gordy, No capital punishment here...BUT....a person like that incarcerated in one of our
prisons would have a "fate worse than death" everyday till he is finally 'filleted'
by one of his co-inhabitants with "nothing to loose" or "just for fun"....Ed K.
