Just wanted to share my ride...
I've been a BMW enthusiast my entire life, and now just starting in the Alfa Romeo scene. I look foward to learning new things about Alfa and this neat forum. I'm a regular on www.dtmpower.net...all we do is talk BMW.  But I digress, so here's some pics...

Welcome to the board. That's a nice looking BMW.
Just watch out for the General, he's going to flame BMW's when he see's this thread. Don't take him to serious, he's a sarcastic, very caring and a very nice guy.
But he does hate BMW's.

Thank you for the compliments. I'll try not to take his comments seriously, but I'm a BMW enthusiast at heart, and it gets me...let's just say a little angry when I hear Bimmer-bashing.
Of course that doesn't mean I can't try new things, hence the reason I bought a Milano. It's going to be a nice widebody track car. I look foward learning about Alfa Romeo; let the fun begin.

nice Bimmer! What size engine is your E36? I assume it's a 2.5 liter. If your Milano is a verde a (3.0 liter) then your Alfa should be able to smoke it on a race track.

If you have the Milano (or not) you might want to join us at the Concorso Italiano in Monterey on Aug 15.
? About an hour or so from San Mateo? There will be over 125 Alfas on display along with around 1000 other Italian beauties and in the non-Concorso area there is usually a pretty decent BMW Corral.
Still time to enter the Milano as an exhibit car - www.concorso.com.
Also a very active club in your area - ARA @ www.overheardcams.org

Don't worry, after I fix the exterior I'm going to brag to all my Bimmer friends about my new Italian car. 
Yup, it's a 2.5L rated at 192HP. It has a few mods, such as an exhaust, intake, and Jim Conforti chip. I don't know if that would push it to 200+... Maybe I should swap out the stock Milano engine for the 3.0L...
I don't know if I should bring the Milano as it's not really show worthy as of now...and I know bringing the BMW would be blasphemy.  But we'll see...

Hey Daso, the general here. Don't get me wrong. Your 3 series is ok, I guess. It's just that I've never been one to follow the masses and the 3 series craze is just something that doesn't appeal to me. I've always wanted to be a little more original. The idea of seeing myself coming and going is just, in a word, boring. I don't know the condition of your Milano, however, if tuned right, you'll find it to be much more of a sport sedan than your 3 series. The Dedion transaxle is pure racing technology. The inboard rear brake rotors, etc. Now the looks of the Milano is a different story, love it or hate it, however, a gun metal grey Verde is very sharp looking. Anyway, tune your Alfa right, find someone who knows how to service it, and I'm sure your 3 series will soon be for sale. By the way, BMW can only dream about having Alfas' racing heritage. But they have certainly created an image smokescreen in America through effective marketing, that's for sure.

Hey General, I'm finally glad you posted. I was growing weary with anticipation...
Well, everyone does indeed have their own opinion, tastes, and such. It's become obvious that you hate BMW and that would serve in your look towards them. To me, it isn't boring at all. It's why I modify my car with new technology and such. Right now the car is in the shop for its widebody. In a couple of months I'm going FI. Not your run-of-the-mill 3-Series.
I do plan to tune my Milano. Everyone I had talked to didn't like the idea of me buying an Alfa Romeo, mainly because they never heard of it and that it breaks down frequently. I told them to shove it, and I reminded them what they drive. An import with rims...it's been done before. Look what I'm doing...
When my Milano is "complete," I have NO inention of selling my BMW. Like I said, I've been an enthusiast ever since I layed eyes on my first one (2002tii...badass suckers) At heart, BMW will always come first to me...no matter how distasteful they may seem...thank you Chris Bangle

You know what guys and gals? In the end, the coolest thing is that we are all "gear-heads" who believe in driving and owning interesting and sporty machinery.
Whether you are an "Alfa first and only", a "RWD Alfa only", a "105 and earlier only", an "originale only", or an owner and lover of lots of different cars and bikes...well, good for you!
This BB is for people who love Alfa Romeos! Not for people who reject others because of their polygamous relationships with 'other' cars! Save that stuff for the 'Digest' !!
Anyway, I am not personally a big fan of BMW cars...but I don't hate them either. I also believe that it's perfectly OK to modify an Alfa. In fact, General, I am going to put a 2L engine and a LSD in my '69 Spider 1300 Junior!
'Flaming' is something I don't like. Let's not do it...OK? I mean, why can't we all just get along?
