I just want to take this opportunity to give a rave review to
Group 2. We all know they are great but I'm going to talk 'em up some more.
I brought my Berlina in for some badly needed work. The front end was good and sloppy. I called up Group 2 and Joe said "Bring it in!" I did, Chris and I went through it while it was up on the rack. One of the first things found was the brake master was toasted (No Chris, I was not trying to secretly kill you while out on the diagnosis run). Other items included sagging springs, shot tie rod ends, shot trunnion bushings, shot control arm bushings, shot axle straps, shot front and rear trailing arm bushings and old Konis in sad shape (the shafts were rusting through).
We found some other items that we will address during round two as well.
The Group 2 guys are very personable, helpful and knowledgable. They are just top notch. Period. It's always nice to hear from the garage working on your car that it will be "fun" to work on. You know it's in good hands.
I took the car for a test run and I'll tell you the difference was like night and day. They made that car drive like a Chariot of the Gods. They gave me new poly bushings, Shankle springs, Bilstein shocks and a new brake MC. They also changed the oils, tie rod ends and axle straps.
The only thing left is to level out the rear end as the new springs sit just a tad high. Once I got the car back I drove to work everyday that week just to have an excuse to drive it. I usually ride the bus or walk. It's a truly amazing little beasty now and I'll use any excuse to drive it anywhere.
I cannot emphasize what great work they do. I can't wait to take my TI in to them. Joe, Chris and the rest of the crew are exceptional. Group 2 rules the school!
