There are a lot of people here who have pictures of Alfa's racing in the Trans Am series. Let's post all the pictures we can find here on this thread. Here are just a few of what I have. I need to scan more.

Andrew,

I like that. Possiblly a bolt right on and an Alfa part to boot. Is it a bolt on?

And now I may need one.

Yes, if it's a Giulia bumper it has two studs that go through the body under the trunk floor, in the same manner a GTV bumper attaches. If the distance between the two stud holes isn't the same as on a GTV, I wonder if the bumper was narrowed/lengthened?

Still, with the bumper painted black, it's pretty hard to be sure what it is. Giulia bumper have scalloping on the lower part.

Great pictures. I wonder when and where that was taken. I've never seen pictures of the cars in the 71 orange livery with Pepsi sponsorship. Also interesting to see the small tail lights. Were there more than 3 Wetson GTV's or did the cars get converted to bigger tail lights in the later years?

Trans Am(?) -TI (or TI Super??) #12

Here is a scan of an old technology picture of a picture that I took some years back at a vintage car race. It was on display in the Camaro owner's paddock.

I'm not positive that this picture is from a Trans Am race.

Thanks Ken and yes I have this issue courtesy of Max Banks and his father Richard. I am searching for photos of the left side of car from 1966 Trans-Am races. I have some great photos of the right side but the left side of the car in 1966 Trans-Am livery eludes me. Don Gwynne, a Lotus guy, sent me a photo from the Greenvalley race, but I can't make out the details.

There must be an Alfista out there with photos of the left side of this car in 1966.

We are painting the car in January and applying the livery that month so I have a few months left to find a photo.

Thanks Guy's

I would like to thank Ken,Bob and all the other contributers for keeping this fine thread alive. I've be home with walking pneumonia for ten days and feeling down, losing so much time from my work.
Thank god for AlfaBB. over the last few days I've been able to peel back more data on the RHD GTA I have in storage.I learned from the 1966 VIR program that although the car was once owned by Joe Locario in Texas, his drivers at the 66 VIR trans-am were Russ Simon and Billl Steel ( car #17 finished 9th).
I want to get up north this winter to visit one of the cars past owners (Jon Norman) to see if i can purchase any images or history from his past stewardship.
I had some great shots of the car I took at Riverside 1979 when Dave Vegher ran it in the IMSA Times Grandprix, but these were lost in a house fire in 1990.
I'm hopeful some one else took some images 0f # 14 that day.
All the best guys, have a great Xmas!
Cheers, Don.

Hi Andrew, Dave Vegher's # 14 IMSA GTA is easy to spot, as it was nearing the end of a long Trans-Am development curve. When I saw the car at the 1979 Times Grand Prix she had fresh red paint, typo 33 wheels, full cage,GTA-JR panels and every trick Dave and (past owner Jon Norman) could dial-in over the years. The huge front air dam read Veloce Motors West (Dave's shop).
One of the sponsors were San Marino Clothers another was (A.D.S. Alfa dealer supply). The race program that day listed the car as a 70 GTV 2000.The car ran well in practice and was very loud. Dave never told me why the GTA DNF'ed that day, I was with Brett Lunger and could not get over to the Vegher pit. A short time later Paul Van Der Linden told me the GTA was for sale so we headed for Dave's shop with trailer in tow.
Last year Dave told the me the GTA was Jon Norman's old race car which Jon
confirmed.
Any images or storys you have would be great.
All the best, Don Paul
