That hood is the most overkill element I think I've seen, save for the famous 164 horror.

It's all about looks and image rather than power. If your car looks as though it can go fast that's as important it seems nowadays as if it really can go fast although what the point of all that is continues to escape me. I want my own car to look standard so it doesn't attract the attention of police or insurance companies and go like stink when I nail the throttle. Having something that looks like a touring car and goes like a milk float seems awfully perverse or maybe I just do not get it. All these so called modifications make an Alfa horrible to drive and
to look at. You are shouting the message that you are a complete tosser who needs to stick with Honda's.

Well...on the gtv6: 3.0 ALFA motor, Flowmaster exhaust with highflow cat, 16" TDM wheels, lowered, Powerstearing, air horns, verde lsd transaxle with shift linkage, lightened flywheel, shankle torsion bars and rear springs, koni shocks, etc(can't remember the rest!)
But still not riced out, right?

I think it looks ok, would be better if it had more subtle styling tweeks, less is more in the terms of styling, its not a japanse car so don't give the silly in your face wide kits and big spoilers when its a European.

If ANY ONE of us here go this thing delivered in the driveway on X-mas morning with a big red bow on the roof and a "I love you honey" kiss on the head to go with it, would ANY ONE of us reject it...?
(Especially if she said/he said: "....oh by the way, a man named Dawie sends his regards - he says he did something special for you nder there....)

Perhaps we should start saying "pasta'd out" rather than "riced out" in the future.
The best Alfas (Italian cars in general) are beautiful objects that go like stink, rather than bad a-- boulevard cruisers such as this. It might be cool with some hydraulics!
However, I can see the point that to sell cars to a broader market, a certain niche will be created catering to current trendiness, and you can't prevent that nor should you. If the "kids" start buying new Alfas and pumping them up, it adds to the reputation in a whole new market. As they become popular again, familiarity with and appreciation of the legends will follow.
I'm hopeful that the factory understands that great design and advanced engineering is what built the reputation.

Ha! I like it!
Alfa Romeo Owner's Design Guidelines, Vol 1 -
Lower is good.
(Slightly) wider wheels with lower profile tires than stock are good.
Red is appropriate for all occasions and seasons. If you choose to use bright yellow, keep in mind that it is NOT a Dino.
Engines may be modified to ungodly horsepower ratings, as LONG as they don't protrude from the engine compartment or involve SCOOPS!
NO WINGS! Of any kind! ESPECIALLY two-tiered aluminum affairs with rivets!
NO giant driving lights attached to the grille. (are you rallying this car?)
Side skirts are NOT to be used on an Alfa Romeo without the prior approval of the SCCA.
Maximum diameter of the tailpipe should be limited to 4". (dual tips are OK)
If you put those damn chrome plastic taillight inserts on with the little round holes for the light, you'll have to talk to the Pope, Buddy!
Front air dams must not protrude more than 3" past the front bumper.
Window decals more than 24" across or 12" diameter are prohibited.
The name of the car should not be applied to the car more times than the factory deemed appropriate, nor in a larger font.
Woofers that shake the license plates off will be subject to review by the Cardinals. (And they dig music)
Volume 2 is in print and will be available to new owners soon.
Thank you or your time.

The car was build in Belgium by auto tuning center and is not from Switzerland. Did some shows in europe and than the owner sold him. Probably he is still in Belgium, but i'm not sure of that, the alloy wheels are really goldplated. the rear fender came from a ferrari 360modena and hood was hand made. but still its raping an italian beauty, would not make these changes to my 156 sportwagon.
