oil light flashes electrics

I have a 2002 alfa spider ts 2litre the oil warning light flickers I have had oil pressure test with mechanical guage oil pump checked relief valve checked replaced oil pressure sender unit all ok have now disconnected the wire from the warning light to the oil pressure sender unit oil light still flicker has anyone come across this problem can any suggest a fix to this thanks spiderman 46

Hi Spiderman - I known your engine (from 155/156) but not from your model.
Says the owners manual anything about the oil warning light also check for oil level?
If it does, the level indicator might be the cause.

hi oil level is fine model 2litre twin spark 2002 year thanks anyway spiderman46

What I meant was, if there is a "low level warning" in the system for the oil warning light, it might be faulty or too sensitive.
On earlier Fiats and Lancias, this was a common fault.

Hi Erik thanks for your reply the oil light that flickers is for low oil pressure there is no low level warning light but i have disconected the wire off the oil pressure sender unit and the light still flickers leading me to think it has to be electrical still trying to find problem thanks spiderman46
