2002 Alfa Romeo 147 2L TS

Hi There

Anyone know where I can download a workshop manual for my car?
Would also want to know more about the airbags in the seat, if once activated can they bypassed without replacing them?

Thanks

Christa

I would have thorght that SA had many Alfa (relatively) - Alfa asemblied cars in SA years back, an many classics Alfas in UK are imported from SA.

Christa
The airbag-ECU drives a low current through the ignition pill for controlling it and wants to "see" a resistance of min. 3 Ohms and max. 6 Ohms.
Older pills raise their resistance over the years, so you can calculate a resistor in parallel without loosing the security of an airbag.
If you disconnect the airbag, try out a resistor with 3,9 or 4,7 ohms (1 Watt).

Be carefully to disconnect the batterypoles, shorten the + and - wire and wait approx. 10 minutes before doing anything at the airbagsystem otherwise you'll look like her

Hi Eric

Well that was many years back and there are very few Alfa Romeo's in South Africa. In the whole of the Natal Province we only have one Fiat dealership that also take care of Alfa Romeo. I guess there might be more in the Johannesburg Province.

I wonder if you can tell me what the VDC System failure is I see when we start the car up.
