Interfacing Laptop with Engin Management System

Hi all,

I have a UK alfa 166 TS 2.0 and would like to connect my lap top to it instead of going down my local garage whenever the management light comes on.

I would be interested to know if any one else has done this.

I have found this http://obddiagnostics.com/ which looks like it is a cheap way of doing the job.

I need to know if the alfa uses the obdII command set and that the USA one is compatible with the UK?

Would be interested to hear from any one who has gone through this loop b4.
