I bought a 156 2.5 v6 back in March and due to engine related problems I have only done about
200 miles in the **** thing.
The clutch didn't work when I bought the car so my first job was to get a new clutch fitted
(£560)!
With the new clutch in place I could now detect that all is not well with the engine. It cuts
out at 4000 revs.
Next, there was an overheating problem (water pump) that resulted in the need of a new (recon)
head (£1600). With a new waterpump and recon head (and valve straightening) the car still
misses badly Diagnostics on the computer show nothing that gives the garage/s any clues.
Three engine specialists have now given up! They cannot find the cause of the missing.
The condition has been improved a little with various new parts (air flow meter, coil packs). The car has only got 56,000 on the clock!
but the car is still very ill.
Has anybody had a similar experience and found a resolution?
