Guys just bought a 2001 Alfa 156 Lusso, looking to change the wheels from standard. Anyone got any ideas of the PCD and offset required for this and the sizes that would fit the car without any arch work? Hoping to go 17" or 18". Cheers.
19-inch wheels will fit the 156, but the three extra inches over stock wheels will require you to fit a 30-profile tire to the car. That is seriously uncomfortable and will definitely ruin both the handling and the bushings. The latter in short order, on a car which is already famous for wearing them out faster than most.
Plus you're adding several kilos to each corner of the car with those - in the words of Jeremy Clarkson - Drug Dealer Wheels.
A lowering kit and 17" wheels will not only improve the ride (Alfa-wise), but it'll look just as good. 18" and larger is ridiculous on a street-156 in my humble opinion.
I totally agree with TorW.
Guys, please, keep in mind that Alfas are drivers cars.... do not ruin them. Fiting a 18 (or biger) wheels only improve looks (I assume that your idea. Not mine..)
Alfa are all about driving plasure... And think that in 20 years, your 156, GTVs, etc, will be collector items... Think where will a peugeot, a renault or even an audi be......
PDC is 5x98, center hole 58,1 mm, official offset 40,5mm for 17". I would not go for 18 or 19, it looks stupid and wont make car drive any better. Nearest size is 215/45/17 tyres.
