Someone is selling a 147 GTA on Ebay. I laughed then emailed the seller asking about it.
He says that the car is in CA and was imported from Europe. Someone on the digest ran the VIN number through CarFax and it came back:
VIN: ZARBA5647J1062428
Year/Make/Model: 1988 ALFA ROMEO SPIDER GRAD
Body Style: Roadster
Engine Type: 2.0L L4 MFI/FI DOHC
Manufactured In: ITALY
Gee...so dude swapped the VIN numbers. Real slick. Anyway...I emailed him asking why this was and his response was:
----
Let me tell you why.
I told you that this car is from Europe and it dosen't have a VIn nr. right now.
And that's why I have to use another vin from another car.
The price is 16000 us $.
Tell me if you agree?
Regards!!!
----
Anyway...this is obviously a scam. There is no way that car is legally here. Too bad.
