Richard
Donington might be difficult as we have been invited to provide a support race for Jonathon Palmer's new F2 series on the GP circuit and it will be very popular. It's not our meeting, its an FIA meeting. There is just one race for the CSCC & it is likely that just 11 entrants from each of the 4 CSCC series will get to enter. Silverstone would be good - tell your friends!

Fair enough. I doubt I'll be able to generate much interest for Silverstone - partly because of the distance and partly because of the track (there aren't too many fans of the National Circuit). I need to go to Cheltenham for the RR session.

I do understand the distance issues. I need to check but I think that Silverstone may be the International layout. Perhaps the Scottish Classic series should consider asking for a guest slot on our meeting at Oulton next year (2010) & those that wanted could also enter the appropriate Swinging Sixties, Tin Tops or Future Classics race to make the trip worthwhile. Need to work on a request fairly early, though.

We do kinda - the trouble is it all took too long to arrange and agree so by the time it was sorted there was no spaces! There was meant to be an invitation race too but (word has it) that the SMRC wouldn't meet the entry guarantee that the CSCC were asking for so it all fell through which is pretty disappointing. The entries are growing pretty big for our series. If we get a couple more cars enter the next race they'll split the classes into two races - we have 50 cars registered.

Change all that - it seems as though the Oulton Swinging Sixties race has been split into two so there are now spaces - I plan to send an entry on Monday

Excellent. Remember that there is usually a Sports Vs Saloon Challenge race at the end of the day as well (discounted to £95 for those that have already participated in other races in the day) so you could get an extra race to help make up for your long journey south. I am entered in the Tin Tops race and the Sports Vs Saloon Challenge race in my Fiat Uno.

Cool - yup, I'll take a look at that. Do you know what the testing arrangements at Oulton are?

There's usually testing available on the friday (day before). You can book all day or an am or a pm slot, have a look at the Oulton Park web siite and deal direct with the circuit.

MRS, did you race at Oulton in the end? I was there in the Uno but I must admit that I didn't look round the paddock. have a look at the other thread I have started on the possibility of a classic endurance race (c 4-6 hours) for clubman - would you & your knockhill colleagues be interested in such a thing? Looks like being for saloons & GTs between 1968 & 1985, although the eligibility criteria is still being discussed!

Hi Andy, No I didn't make it in the end - had exhaust issues to sort and just couldn't see how to get everything done in time. Also needed to sort brakes and front springs which was worth doing because I was nearly a whole second a lap quicker - so that's 2.5s per lap better this year already and I'm sure there's more to come
