Simon,
It was great to meet you! This was my first Time Trial and I have got to say, I had a blast. My GTV6 was classified in group E. The only other car in E was the blue Ti pictured above.
Fellow AlfaBB'ers - you need to take your street legal Alfas to the races! My car is bone stock except for the IAP headers. Stock street tires. I don't even know what they are or how many miles they have, as they came with the car!
So I am asking you guys to get those Alfas to the track. We need more cars in the stock class. I am proud to have won my class, but it would be much more satisfying to have beaten more than one car.
Buttonwillow is in June. Check your wheel bearings, buy a five point harness, a fire extinguisher, a helmet and gloves and let's go racing!
Check out the AROSC website for all of the information.
Jeff

Glad you had fun Jeff, I can't wait to take my gtv out. By the way it's bone stock, so I'll be in group E to.
"If" I get some cash I'll be at button in june.

Check out Anthony and I with our 1st place platters. He got a 1:41.3 in dirks white #66 car. The track wasn't in very good condition but he ran very good lap times. And despite the oil leak on the headers on the #181 it turned 9 lap times in a row between 1:39.2-1:39.7. That was on yokohamas and the car was running very good but I was taking it easy since I had a 24 second lead on the next place car.

tell me about it....slicks and a wet track don't go well. i wish i went faster as i have in the past with that car but all things considering, including, the timed laps was the first time i got in a car the whole weekend i am a happy camper. good job richard, way to represent for the scuderia!

re: lap times
They have not posted them on the website yet, but I think I was running 1:56's. Not extremely fast, but each lap was faster than the prior. I also passed 4 cars in six laps, which doesn't help lap times, but feels good. I am sure that I was leaving a second or two on the table in turn 8. I think the car could go flat out all the way from turn 5 to 9, but I was afraid that if I was wrong, I might be riding in a tow truck all the way home.
Richard, I watched your race from on top of the hill in turn 4. It was amazing how much slower you looked than everyone else! That car looks like it just drives around the corner while everyone else has to fight their car to get them turned! No great battles to watch, but some really good driving. Congrats.

Jeff,
Swing by our paddock space next time, I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about things on the track or even drive your car with you in the passenger seat to show you some lines (that's always a kick in the pants). i looked for you after the awards but you split early. i think you did a 1:53...either way, you did a good job for first time out. Once again, good job this weekend.

This is what happens when you break the rubber driveshaft coupling on saturday. we had it out in a hour and back in in 15 minutes. That is my niece Aubrey on the left, she was neck deep in grease and helps me out consistantly at the track.

thanks for the compliment in turn 4, the car has a really good front in that just BITES into the corners, but I still can't get the back end to settle down in the back, it just goes straight and the front end turns, its pretty strenous, but thanks.

Anthony - I missed the registration cut-off for Laguna Seca, but I will be at Buttonwillow.
I am going to take you up on your offer to ride around the track at Buttonwillow. A new track, and a new car. It should be fun!
The Berlina had better be ready by then!

Yes that is the same Sprint. I had always planned on changing out the top of the page car each month or so but I've been lazy.

That's a car frame? It looks more like a part of a catapult!

Passengers & Turn 8
Hey Jeff,
Glad you had fun at Willow. Yes, you ARE leaving a few seconds on the table in turn 8, because unless your car is capable of times under 1:20 per lap, turn 8 is flat on the floor, all the way from hte entrance of 6. I have never driven a car at Willow that wouldn't go thru 8 flat, and that includes Joel Quaid's Ferrari 360 Challenge, which was right at 150 mph thru 8. My best time in that car was 1:29. Joel has done 1:26 before.
Do you have a time trial license? If you do, than you can ride with Anthony. If you don't, then ride with an instructor. Club policy is that BOTH driver and passenger have to be licensed. We do have lots of good instructors, though.
Congrats on winning your class.
Brad
