I do agree w/you about Motorcycle Road Racing, although I prefer the smaller "cc" competition. IMO the remainder of your reply is just 'flaming'!

If you read the second line of that post I said "That's what A LOT of people think about YOUR car." as in Alfa Romeos. Do you know how many times I've heard that Alfa's are junk from people that have no idea what they are?!
Same thing with NASCAR, most of the people that trash it know nothing about it.

Anyway, I agree with Zunige....I need to get back under the new 164S and away from here!

YEA NASCRAP SUCKS!! How the hell are you supposed to learn anything from a car that only steers to the left in a circle all day? Then they wonder why they cant build a good street car.. Although I do like the Corvette, Caddy CTS. Dodge Charger and Magnum..those cars are awsome.

Great footage of some older aus touring cars. These days it's very boring.

believe it or not, they are steel bodied. if they were fiberglass, imagine the carnage from all the rubbin' & bumpin'

you can't desperately hammer fiberglass fenders back out while the car is in the pits like they do.

look closely next time at the hammers used in the shots . First one shown is a Snap-on and the others are Craftsman. Another trick by those Nasskar folks. Cars really aren't even going fast at all - they speed up the film.

*me votes this for most useless thread ever!

For the record, I don't generally watch any racing. WRC stuff is cool enough to watch, ditto for the GT stuff, F1 = so-so and NASCAR = BOOOOOORRRRING. The bigger sports (especially NASCAR) have basically just become one big commercial....that's pretty much what it boils down to.

At one time I mused on how cool it would be to get a simple run-what-ya-brung local race thing together, had a few ideas for it. Basically just a bunch of locals getting together and racing their cars. Then it occurred to me that this is actually more or less how NASCAR started out. Sad indeed.
