Excuses, excuses....which is it? Fuel cost too much and you can't afford it, or your making so much money you can't leave? Sounds like double talk to me. You left coasters are just skeered of us corn fed midwestern boys showing you the way around a race track!!
Seriously Rick, I hope you don't pass up this once in a lifetime event for something as frivolous as money. Alfa is a religon and as owners we have all taken the vow of poverty anyway! It's only money.....you can make more later

Andy, I think we are all a little scared of you on that track. You and Mike have more laps on it than the rest of the entrants combined! But seriously Rick, have you considered shipping the car? It might be cheaper, and you could borrow any tools you need.

Rick
We have never met, but I am most enthusiastic about your car and the opportunity to both meet you and to have you race with us. Eric is right about considering shipping your car to Chicago. I will offer to receive your car at the Acura dealership here in Westmont Illinois - less than one mile from the convention hotel. I am the General Manager here and frequently keep my race cars here at the dealership in between their visits to Besic Motorsports.
If you are interested in pursuing this avenue, send me a PM. We can receive cars from 7 am to 9pm Monday thru Friday and until 6 pm on Saturday. We are closed Sundays.
It is worth a shot to explore the idea don't you think?
Best of luck in your venture.
Ken Girard

Well that was fun (I just got to watch). Weather was perfect. Don't know the results. All the action was down by turn one. Saw a few cars get turned around there but nobody totalled their car. I'll try to get some pictures up soon. Looked like a great turnout.

Here are some of my photos, I know they're not all GTAs... I have lots of other photos in higher resolution so I may have a particular car.

I say we all agree to not tell Eliseo anything since he didn't come But seriously, it was a fun day with perfect weather. In the "A" group wheel-to-wheel race, I believe the Reina brothers were 1 and 2. Besic (& Bielat as co-driver) were 3rd for much of the race, but not sure if they finished there. I had a good first couple of laps and made it to the lead, but cut a brake hose and had to retire. Doubt I could have held off the others for 40 laps anyway!

Sorry to hear you had a cut on a hose, save it for me, I'll do some testing on it.
Do you have lap times? I hope everyone had a good, fun and safe race day.
Sorry I missed it, but that thing called work got in the way.

No need to test it, Eliseo. The line was misrouted and was pinched between the nose of the differential and the chassis. Can't blame the hose for this one. As for times, I'm pretty sure Mike Besic had the best time in the Time Trial with a 1:14 flat. I saw some 1:13's from Reina in the E-Prod GTV-6 in the race.

I see, so I guess you do need to hang around some of us "Engineers" when putting a car together.........
Do you have times for the race and or pictures? Anything worth mentioning?

For those going to the Mid Ohio event, please note I75 is under construction from I696 to I275.
I got stuck Saturday AM going to Mid Ohio, I would take I275, if you are driving from the Metro Detroit area.

I have not seen the official results, however I am pretty sure Rob Mocas won the overall. The Reina SCCA cars were DQ'd for skipping their pitstops as well as for some on track infractions. I was actually in front of Mocas and pulling away when my coil wire fell off a few laps from the end. The unofficial results on Sunday had me in second at the finish, but I think I should be farther down the list due to spectating the final lap or 2. Great racing Rob!

Ditto on the kudos for Rob! Unfortunately, I watched 37 of the 40 laps after suffering a brake failure.
