My RV hits the shop this week to be in top shape for the June Haul covering the "Get Your Kicks On Route 66" round trip road-trip...
"... More than two thousand miles all the way... "
That's EACH way!
We will be singing all the way!

mid ohio after GTA race
The folks at SVRA have offered the event entry fee at the member rates for the Mid-Ohio race for the non-members that stick around after the Chicago events to run the next weekend at Mid-Ohio.

Have you mentioned the race to the good Dr.? I did some months back, November or December, I think, but it might be of more interest if he knew his competitor or is that rival was participating....
I believe a couple of his sons either race or pit also.....

Other than Court and Ward, the Southeast seems under represented. Have you messaged Mr. Krause?

Rob, I don't know Mr. Krause. Matter of fact, with the exception of the Midwest guys, I don't know many racers. I'm just a guy making a dream come true.

Ed, It's Ward, you know better! Court is deep in Midwest country in Springfield MO. He is my long lost father-brother-patriarch-mentor-procrastinator!!! I'm just a transplanted Midweseterner myself still a "yankee" though I've lived in Atlanta for 20 years and married a native Mariettan. I will make it to the Chicago race, but unfortunately Court cannot due to medical reasons. He'll be back soon though. So, if YOU would get your Bobsy = GTA back together maybe YOU could come to Chi-town with us!! Ward.

Try locating Wheeler who has run Midwest Council races, Barb Nevoral who runs in VSCDA, and Gene Zananni who has run both Council and SCCA. I don't have their contact info, maybe someone else does.
They are all local and were active around here last year.

Just when you need MORE entrants... :-(
...I am VERY SORRY to report that I am a DNS...
I'm the guilty party that started this thing!
I had hoped that we could get a bunch of West Coast racers to pool expenses and make the race an economic possibility... with Diesel at $2.50 / Gal a two car stacker sharing fuel the round trip would have been about $ 600 per car...
With no partner and the jump in fuel cost, the current ($4.50) reality is: 4,000 miles @ 8 MPG @ $4.50 / gal = 2,250.00 JUST for fuel! That, plus 12 days away from otherwise productive activity... it makes zero sense.
On the positive side..., I have been yanked from my pleasant retirement (growing world class heirloom tomatoes in New Mexico & racing my "Vintage" GTV) into building a cutting edge Motion Picture Post-Production - Sound / Special Effects Facility here in New Mexico... The state government has offered a 25% rebate to movies shooting here, which has created a stampede... the same economic incentive for movie shooting applies to "Post Production"... and there are no "post-houses" here.... so it's a no=brainer for me...
Screw the tomatoes (and the 12-day race sojourns with diesel @ $4.50 + /gal)
I'm building a Post-Production facility here in Albuquerque... see >>>
