I don't know the answer either....but I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one missed if we were all supposed to get them.
How much do you want to bet every board member got a copy? That should be easier than predicting the Patriots vs. Giants score.
I had a great time also, saw many people that I hadn't seen for years; if only they could have done something about keeping that weather from the week before instead of the heat and humidity that set in. Oh, well.....

Album
It was sent as an email attachment, not a physical book or album. If you provided an email address, you probably got one.

The photo albums went to ever e-mail address we had from the convention. Heard back from many recipients, so we know that the majority at least went through. Some undoubtedly went into SPAM folders, others evidently never got through the local systems. Realizing that such problems happen when sending large (7 MB) attachments to hundreds of letters, we also posted the album to Motor City Alfa 2007 - Home for download until April. Same site as the 'over 800 photos' mentioned earlier. I also have a slightly more compact version (plus a handful of typos corrected) that can be e-mailed upon receipt of request to motorcityalfa@aol.com

Dave:
The 7MB answers the question --- my accounts block at 5MB and anything over that has to be sent with a file splitter and reconfigured upon receipt; I've found that it's much easier when both the splitter and receiver are using the same file splitting software, even though the software says it doesn't matter. It does to my computer.

The photo album was one way of AROC-Detroit thanking everyone who came to the convention. The original (300 dpi) uncompressed file was roughly 850 MB. At 120 dpi with compression we got it down to 7 MB. Eventually I lowered the resolution to 90 dpi, and although the 43 pages do not print or view as well, that got it down to 4 MB. An announcement that a photo album of the 2007 convention is available for download was sent to Alfa Owner a week ago, and that it should be available until April, when we plan to dismantle the site. So although or original mailing may have been only 90 percent effective, this should give nearly everyone who attended the opportunity to have a souvenir from Motor City Alfa (except the half-dozen attendees without computers).

Thanks, Dave!... I'll make sure to download a copy. It was a memorable convention.
Best regards,

The other Dino Crescentini

Rick I have known the other Dino Crescentini since 1990 and Giuliano for about the same time. I let Dino race one of my Can-Am cars at the 1992 Monterey Historics and Denny Hulme raced the other car. Giuliano never forgave me for getting Dino hooked on horsepower that weekend. George Follmer won Dino finished second and Hulme finished third in a great race. As you know Dino went on to race Trans-Am and later won a World Challenge GT race in a Corvette.
Here is what Dino Crescentini sent me after I emailed him your comments.
"That’s Rick Clemente. I knew him when I was 10 years old! He’s a great guy.
Rick was Charlie Theriot’s “partner in crime” (Rick writes a little about him in post 140). They were best buddies until the day that Charlie died. Charlie was a really good friend of my dad’s who for some reason took both Charlie and Rick under his wing and helped them with their racing program in the late 60’s/early 70’s with the GTA depicted in Rick’s handle. Believe it or not, it was Rick and especially Charlie that got me into racing – and into my love of Alfa’s. Charlie, who worked off and on for my Dad as mechanic, would drive his full-race-spec GTA to work. As a kid, I spent a lot of time in my Dad’s shop and being that he always worked late, he usually had to find one of his guys to take me home. If Charlie was available to take me home, I would jump at the chance to ride in that GTA. With a wink and a smile Charlie would reassure my Dad that he would get me home safely – and proceed to take me from Burbank to Sherman Oaks on the wildest ride you can imagine on Mulholland Drive. I was hooked!
Man, those were the days." --Dino Crescentini

Stories about Dino rival those of Charlie Theorit! Dino would show up at R.I.R. in a GTA running with side-exit exhaust, Italian plates, a surfboard on top, and a GF with the shortest skirt imaginable. He'd do the morning practice, and then head off to the beach.
I still have a set of Italian license plates, among other stuff, which Dino would just hand me when his dad wasn't around. He's that kind of guy.
At a bachelor party about 10 years ago, I got talking to one of the other partakers while in a "gentlemen's club" (one of the many stops that night...). Turned out that we both knew Dino. We ended up chatting for the remainder of the stop about Dino, his exploits, etc. with our back to the "entertainment", laughing our heads off.
I'd love to catch up with Dino if someone could PM me his contact info.

Can you buy race gas at the track? This was an issue we had @ Waterford for the Detroit Convention, David was one of the ones with no fuel. .....but we managed to get him some!

Will you come if I tell you I'll bring the racing gas Eliseo?
Actually, Autobahn does have fuel on site. They offer 110 leaded and 104 premium unleaded and a couple other fuels.
