We Need More Italians!
Anyone know how to get a hold of Dino Cresentini (Ralt Alfa F2),
Joe Nastasi (Alfa Romeo 33/3), Nick Soprano (33TT/3 coupe),
Peter Ragonetti ('66 Sprint GT), Richard Giambra ('72 GTV),
Tom Ragonetti ('69 Duetto), Santo Spadaro ('58 Giulietta Veloce),
Tom LaCosta ('65 Giulia Ti).
We need a few "paisani" to make things more interesting. Spoke with Roberto Reina this morning and he thinks his family will be bringing three cars.
A presto,

There is,of course the other "Dino Cresentini" now running around in ¿Corvettes?... The son of legendary Giuliano Cresentini... one of the real heros I have met in my long lifetime! (...but that's a subject for a longer and more thoughtful posting... Giuliano is a man that embodies "The American Dream" and is among the handful of men I would aspire to emulate... as should we all!)

History: The car was converted from a GTV street car to a vintage racecar by Dr. Sergio Perticucci and Alan Ward in 1993, and competed extensively in Club and Vintage racing events. Rick Clemente purchased the car in 2005. Today it is active in AROSC, SCCA Vintage, USRRC Senior’s Tour, VARA (2006 / 2007 B/Sedan Champion), Southwest Motorsports and HSRW.
TransAm Heritage: The current Owner / Driver was the Crew Chief on the late Charlie Thieriot’s TransAm Alfa Romeo GTA, which was famously destroyed in Turn Six at Riverside International Raceway in one of the last of the classic TransAm events. The goal with the new car is to duplicate the performance characteristics and appearance of the original as closely as possible. The new car laps within about a second of the original.

I've been "PM'ed yet again about the paint on the TransAm #33... here's the scoop for those that are interested...
The original ('71, '72) TransAm race car was raced all across the country. Given that this was hard fought professional racing it was important to be able to do repair work on the run.... Often between sessions or overnight. So the colors we selected were as follows:
Red: Was a standard Chevy engine paint
White: Was a Krylon "Appliance White"
Green: Was a standard Dodge engine paint
This allowed us to get rattle cans of the right paint anywhere there was a Pep Boys...
I'm looking forward to seeing Roman's #93 in its original unrestored livery... there should be samples of the above mentioned paint on the ex-Midgley car!

This was the Time Trial Event last year during the 2007 AROC National Convention in Detroit, "Waterfod Hills". We expect many of the same cars to join us this year. Roman Tucker brought a truck load (literally).

I see Roman Tucker has three entries (Including Bernardo Martinez Jr.).
From having lunch with the Auto Prep "clan" las weekend, I can tell you they are working 7-24 on cars, specifically GTA's for this year busy schedule.

All those GTA photos at the start of this thread plus the videos are from the 2007 convention in Detroit. Retired Alfa Romeo race team manager and ARI chief engineer Don Black came to wave the cars onto and off the track from the flag tower. Some of the cars were from his TransAm days at Alfa Romeo. We applied for and received a noise ordinance waiver from the township just so all these GTAs could run the road racing course at Waterford Hills without mufflers. Those who attended the convention were sent a photo album, including many photos from Waterford Hills. Over 800 images are still posted in the photo gallery at Motor City Alfa 2007 - Home

I just sent Dave a PM, 'cause I did not get a photo album, but I don't know if I'm even supposed to get one ... But I did have a great time at Waterford Hills, and at the rest of the convention events.
Best regards,
