Alfetta GTV red with white stripes -Adelaide
Hi
I chatted with a bloke the at Winton the other day in Vic/Aus who was from adelaide, and had a red alfetta gtv, with white stripes up the middle of it.
Anyone have his contact details? He gave them to me on the day and I promptly lost them, he had at one stage turbo charged his Alfetta and at the time I met him, had a fuel injection setup on it. I would love to pick his brains if someone could help me find him.
I am sure he must frequent this site.
Cheers
Mike

That's Andrew Scadding. Don't have a contact for him though. If you contact one of the committee members of AROCA South Aust, they should be able to put you in touch. Go to: http://www.alfaclubsa.org.au/

Could you please put me in contact with him? I'm curious to ask about his front spoiler arrangement. I just bought a Sports Sedan class 2.0 Alfetta GTV, with pics posted in the Picture Room. Thanks for any time you can spare.

you can search for him on skype if you use that, Andrew Scadding is his name. Free to download, and then search on his name, then he can reply to you.
PS, I've got an Alfetta GT road car and GTV race car in group S historic...or at least it will be soon. Would be good to get to know a few fellow alfetta nuts.
Cheers

I'm still learning about the Alfetta, although it seems to be a pretty simple thing to work out so far. It will be interesting when I actually get to drive the thing, though! I think that is when the learning will start.
I've been curious about how much power the TS/LSD box in mine will reliably hold but there seems to be little definitive information.

Gearbox its pretty strong and will handle a 250 horsepower (and torque to match) 3.0 v6, so a 2.0 is not going to bother it - unless you have a big power turbo.
Cam Mclean ran a turbo sports sedan Alfetta a few years back and I think it had a std gearbox, but don't know the details (or the maintenance regime).
Avanti at Northgate is probably a good source of info (3266 6623)

Hi...talked to them already, they are about 5 minutes from my home. They said the 4cyl box would hold 250hp or so....but at the time of asking I wasn't fully aware of what the box was and if it was LSD-equipped, so I merely assumed it was a 4cyl open diffed transaxle. I'm not sure where I'll head with this car yet - for now I'll be very happy to learn its traits and get it back on a track.

The best bet for an Alfetta is twinspark box and diff as that gives you the better ratios and a 4.1 LSD.
Learning about the car and modifying it is half the fun.
