Anyone going to VIR Gold Cup?
I'll be at VIR Gold Cup in 4a with our project GTV. It (I) will be slow, but I'll be wearing a big grin.
Anyone else going?
Per

There are a bunch of us going from the Hampton Roads branch of the MAARC. I don't know how many yet, but it should be a fair size group. See ya there.

What a blast. Rally, autocross, vintage racing. It couldn't have been a better weekend (hotter than Hades on Friday and Saturday though).

Congrats to Per on his successful debut of Project GTV!
We were proud to have the two quickest Alfas present, Ceasar Cone (former AROC DoY, went to SCCA Drivers School at VIR in 1961 in his street driven Giulietta Spider Veloce) in his swift yellow 2-liter Duetto. Ceasar posted a fast lap of 2:20.2 Friday morning when the conditions were their best and Tom Benjamin, racing his green GTV to seventh overall, 1st in class on Sunday. Tom turned a 2:20.5 Friday AM. Our service coordinator, Bob Breed is driving the pretty Inka orange #204 2002 behind Les in one of the pictures.
Congrats to Les Bowers, who bought his beautiful white GTV from me many years ago, does all his own work and who goes fast, to boot! Also to Pat Boova in his right hand drive Giulia Sprint 2-liter car. Saw Mike Lawton in his yellow Giulia Spider, Tom LaCosta in Hugh Tompkins old GTA, Jr. and Dave Anderson in his GTV. Kurt Bissell was one of the very few casualties of the weekend, rolling his Giulia Spider, fortunately without more than minor injuries.
On to Mid-Ohio.

Yep, they were, considering the track was very slow this weekend. Best I've done with my 2-liter GTV on Hoosier Street TD's was 2:18.9 and on Hoosier slicks a 2:13.4 at the National a couple years ago. Lots of stuff happening very fast at those speeds!

Uh, yea, 3-layer suit, nomex, etc and about four gallons of sweat. Equally gross.
