Corsa Italiana
The Norwegian Alfa Romeo Club has started a new racing series; Corsa Italiana. The rules are quite simple, and designed to make it relatively inexpensive to participate: The car has to be italian, with engine from the same make as the car. The car must be 15 years or older, and run on pump fuel and street tires. Rollcage, bucket seats and cut-off switch are mandatory.
This opens for a hugely entertaining series, with cars ranging from Autobianchi A112 to a fully race-prepped Ferrari 308GT4. Here are some pics from the first race:

Race number 3 and 4 was held this monday, with 14 cars on the grid! Since we're talking serious low-budget amateur racing here, not all of them ran, eventually, but we had lots of grins in the downpour nevertheless!
It rained cats and dogs and car parts the whole day, but who cares
More pictures in the gallery. Results and standings here.

The fifth and sixth race of Corsa Italiana was held this weekend at Vålerbanen, Norway (2.262 km). The blazing fast GTV6 of forum member GaborK and son blew away all competition and did so with impressive lap times
Kovacs jr. with a certain Christer Lundem in hot pursuit. The latter drives an original-setup 75 V6 affectionately nicknamed "The Drunken Cow" :
Results and lap times here. Some pictures here.

Nobody in his right mind expects anything less than Christer being back with a vengeance. His driving skills are unmatched on the starting grid, as it is.
I guess the donut issue was fixed the same night, and an RSR kit in place to be test driven the next morning?

I have no idea what he`s up to, but when a rabid dog rides a drunken cow, its bound to be ugly.

A few pictures from the final rounds of Corsa Italiana in Norway. From Autobianchi A112 to Ferrari 308 GT4, with lots of Alfas in between; this is huge fun!

Yup. Chris Rea's ex Ferrari 308 GT/4 with Sten Sture Larre behind the wheel took the overall season victory, closely followed by an Alfa 75 3-litre and a 116-series 2-litre GTV.
Unfortunately the usual photographers were less than eager to whip out their cameras because of the crappy weather, but the few we have is here.
Oh, and a view from Frode Myhr's Giulia Super rear window
