Sorry, not in 30 years, .... I hope they didn't bulldoze the park and build
villas. Ciao, Don

I went there once, back in '95 - the year that Gerhard Berger nearly got his head knocked off when Jean Alesi's car-mounted TV camera fell off as he was following. I sat just at the entrance to Parabolica, which is approached by a long straight. I couldn't comment about other areas, although personally I've never seen the point of sitting on the pit straight of any circuit!

The Monza circuit owners keep saying that the old banked circuit is to be demolished, so it's worth going sooner rather than later. The remains are very atmospheric.

Alex.

I was there in 1992, the late Ayrton Senna won that race, with Michael Schumacher second and Martin Brundle third.
I had the chance to watch the Saturday practice right before the Parabolica, it seemed to me unbelievable as they came from the Ascari curve towards Parabolica and in just 50 meters they braked and downshifted before turning.
On Synday I sat at the start line as the Italians went mad, Jean Alesi was on pole position.
It was an unforgetable experience, the sound of the Ferrari and Honda V12 was out of this world.
Takis.

I was there in 2005 and I sat at Variante Ascari section 12, not bad but if I had to do it all over again I think I would at least move over to section 14 or 15 in the same area so you can get a better view of the cars coming down the straight. Too bad the Colombian won.

I was there in 97... yes get there and check out the old banking before its gone. its like an ancient historic relic that is not to be missed by a race fan. Its a lot steeper than it looks in the photos.

i was in the wooded area in the 2nd chicane watching the race.... also we moved to the area where the car come out under the oval. the sounds of the cars coming out of the through the trees are incredible but cant see much of the race.

I was there in 99. We just happened to stumble onto a practice day when all the teams were there except Ferrari (it was right after Schumacher broke his leg). We sat in the main grandstand, and boy was it loud (the old V-10 days). Practice and testing days are great since you see the cars so much more than during a race.

What a great place (imagine an F1 track in Central Park) steeped in history. Cool bookstore in the infield too. It was interesting to see the cross section of folks in the stands, everyone from nuns to Valentino Rossi wannabe teens who gave the finger EVERY time a non-Italian car went by the stands.

We were there back in the early '90s and I have the scars to prove it!

We were told that the old banked circuit was closed to the public, so we snuck in by climbing over a barbed wire fence, which shredded my jeans, and the skin underneath. Once inside, we saw that there was a gate leading in that was wide open .

We watched the race from the grandstand on pit straight. Great view of the cars.

We were fortunate to be traveling with Phil Hill, who managed to get us into the Ferrari F1 race team work shop in Modena.
