I posted a while ago asking for a set of rims for my 69 Berlina so that I could ice race the car this year. Quite a few of you replied that it should be cool and that you wanted to see pics.
Well, I did get to ice race my Alfa at the AMEC Historic Ice Races on Lake George in NY State last weekend. This club usually plows a one and a half mile road course. But due to weird weather conditions this year, we were relegated to a 3/8 mile oval of sorts. It was basically an iregular oaval that had to change a bit for changing conditions.
Anyway, I ended up using Hakapalita 2's and I finished 3'rd in the street studded class. I was beaten by a couple of Saabs. I am sure that if I had the kind of straight away that is usually in their 1.5 miole road course, my power advandage would have greatly outweighed my handling disadvantage to the Saabs.
I tried to paste the pics and that didn't work so I tried to attach them and that didn't work. So maybe you can view the same pics anyway at
The Wisconsin Club used to ice race with the SAAB club up here in the Frozen Tundra. That is, until we had a GTV-6 go through the ice. Now we don't do it anymore.
God, I would love to see pictures of that day if anybody had them.

Look for the Swedish driver Widengren and the Norwegian Bjornstad, both on 8C2300 Monzas
