Today was the David Piper classic series held at Swartkops raceway outside Pretoria..
At 8 this morning 6 men armed with AK47 assault rifles attacked the ticket office and tried robbing them of the "days takings".At 8 in the morning..When confronted,they shot 3 people ,wounding 2 critically...
One of the victims is a 70 year old lady..

This is indeed a black day for South Africa and motorsport here...
I cannot see David Piper or any of the other drivers visiting S.A. again..

It sucks. I see way too many stories like this these days coming out of SA. A lot of them seems to be affecting tourism/overseas visitors as well. Reports like these make me glad I moved to the US. Worse part is: If I still lived there I could vey well have been at the track as I used to marshal there.
