Mercedes still provides the pace car to F1 for this year.

Formula 1 2007
Don't know how you could say that race was boring, if want the most boring and stupidest racing series ever, try inbred, hillbilly NASCAR . When they "interview" the "drivers" after the race, have you ever heard such moronic drivel !!! Try going to Le Mans or almost any Superbike race in Europe, thats racing!!

First of all, Scott Speed was never in Champ Car. And it isnt the minor leagues.
The RedBull Driver Search was rigged. Ask anyone. The test at Paul Ricard was a joke, the track wasn't prepared, the cars were different and there was changing conditions. Did I mention everyone on the judge panel was a Skip Barber employee and had already picked the winner before they showed up at the test?
The times from that test say another thing. Speed is a hack and everyone knows it.
Bourdais, Tracy, Wilson, Da Matta, Servia, Power, Figge, Dalziel, Legge, and Ranger would all blow him into the weeds.

I loved the race. And I am very, very happy for Lewis Hamilton...I hope that he's got "the magic" and can keep the mometum up for the duration of the season. He kept his cool, with only a couple of minor bumbles. But a minor bumble CAN turn major, so be careful, Lewis!
And I agree wholeheartedly with Stacy "My Avatar Makes Me Look Like Tommy Lee" Faught: Pleeeeeeease bring back the old points scoring system. it's so much better than the current one, I think. Cheers all...I'm glad F1 is back in business!

Great race! Kimi wins in his debut, Massa does a good job for the team bringing the car up into the points, and Kubica, Hamilton, and (I think) even the much-maligned Kovalainen livened things up. Give Hamilton a few more races and he won't be losing places to Alonso through the pit stops.
I agree on the point system. Wins need to count for more. It was changed to keep Ferrari from clinching in August every year, maybe now they'll change it back and give credit where it is due.
Of course as usual McLaren are now claiming Ferrari is using an illegal moving floor. How come when Ferrari wins something must be amiss?
I wonder what the Honda and Toyota execs are thinking? With the massive amount of money they are pouring into F1, the results must be disappointing to say the least. Kudos to BMW. Williams must rue the day they broke with BMW.

Marco Andretti - Honda can jettison Backmarkerchello and/or Button and put Marco in the seat.

Why are we ragging on Speed for having a flat during the race when Albers actually crashed his car adjusting his earplug's! I'm sorry but Speed did finish eight in Australia last year but was added 25 seconds for lack of attention to yellow flags. Speed and Liuzzi both have to deal with a very slow car, that is brand new. Remember they pretty much didn't get any winter testing. Speed did have a horrible outing, but Albers was just plan retarded.

Marco's Honda tests went well enough, and without spending a year at least as a test driver I doubt anyone else would give him a seat. In any event McLaren, Ferrari, BMW, and Renault (although I can see Fisi leaving sooner) seem set, whereas both Toyota and Honda are well adrift and driver changes couldn't hurt. Marco tested with Honda, and Button and Rubens are getting on. I can't imagine the Honda brass enjoy hearing Button call the car "crap," which is a bit redundant since it is obvious to anyone watching it hack around the circuit. Remember Ferrari fired Prost for calling the car a "truck," which those of us who remember know was a generous assessment on the Frenchman's part. In any event, Honda won't be down in the dumps forever, and I don't think a year in an uncompetitive car would hurt Marco since no one would expect him to achieve miracles in it - he would get experience and then when Honda turns it around he'll be there to win the Driver's Championship.

Formula 1 2007
hard to figure Honda and Toyota's inability to mount successful teams with all their money. Toyota threw alot of money at Le Mans too but never won!!! I wish BMW were back in the hunt but they suffer from reliability
problems too. Hope Renault stays but heard they plan to leave in 2008. True??
Who is favored among the newest young hotshots??

I'd like to see Nico do well. It's good to see Lewis do well also, but the fact that he went right into a big team with a good car kind of takes away, a bit, from the fact that he has mega talent. Kind of like Villenueve (sp?) when he went right into the dominant Williams.?.? Lots of folk question his true talent. Don't get me wrong though... after all, the kid kept up with his world champion team mate.
But... Kimi's the man! Even if he doesn't say much.

All I know is that Ghosn came out saying that Renault will stay in F1 as long as it makes commercial sense.
I presume if they start sliding into the middle of the pack (which I don't believe will be the case), they may very well pull out, though 2009 may be more likely IMO.
