I am glad to see him go, he was a bigger hack than the entire IRL field.

shumi

Can't believe what I'm hearing on an Italian car forum. Why the hate for Shumi? He brought glory back to Ferrari when it most desperately needed it. And besides he does that cunductor finger thing when 'Fratelli D'Italia' plays. . Without his wins there might have been a hideous GM badge above the prancing horse on the Ferrari today... I said might have been.

HACK!.... good riddance? Are you guys kookoo! I'm not a schumi fan by no means. Every since the Damon Hill days. But he is by far a very important part of F.1 He has single handedly elevated the standard of competition of the sport....... HACK????? I bet if you gave him a big wheel, he would dust Lance Armstrong in the tour de franc with or with out the dope.

Well I'll say it again best driver ever seven time champion etc...

As far as the comments here everyone is entitled to express there opinions however stupid, insane, fkd up, moranic, hmmm from people who can't even drive shopping carts analyzing an F1 driver because they drive an Alfa.

Good luck Shumi and thanks for everything you will be missed!

Schumacher, who has now racked up more wins, championship titles, poles and points ...Hack

Don't like a person fine but far from being a hack!! Them fighting words....Is that a shopping cart I hear in your drive...must be....gitty up......Hack.

Guys, he is just pushing your buttons

No matter how much you dislike certain acts by MS, or him as a person, you have to recognize his achievements! They speak for themselves. He is simply an outstanding driver and competitor. Perhaps his competitive side gets the better of him from time to time, but noone is perfect. F1 will not be the same without him.

A hack; not by a long shot. Indeed the greatest driver of his generation. Also a humorless and robotic figure that inspired little passion in many critics and observers alike. One wonders how he will be remembered in the pantheon of racing greats. I have my doubts about his legacy save his staggering record.

I didn't park my car across the last corner in Monaco.

He also had the best car for most of those "records".

Wrong! ... you are ignoring the years when he drove his best and obtained my respect: the years he struggled with a pig of Ferrari and a reluctant to change Italian team ... just brilliant driving and dedication.

Once they had remembered how to win, thanks to Michael Schumacher the rest of the wins were very easy, but those late 90's years were close to the top F1 of all time.

Since 2000 or 2001 his driving has been going down hill, thanks to top car and no competition until Alonso and Renault.

I can even forgive him for the '97 incident ... but the Monaco one shows that he has lost it and yep glad he is wisely going to retire. I though thank him for the late 90's battles and for bringing Ferrari back to the front.
Pete
