Question Alfa Romeo back in DTM?

Hey I was at the DTM sit and all I think is ....Boring....the only brands are merecedes and audi.... man that sucks its like like the german version of the Australian supercar races where rebaged fords vs chevys, opel is not in anymore bmw gone ford mustangs are gone alfa romeo out. wasnt Alfa supposed to go back with ferrari powered 156 or thats all history man that would be pretty cool if Alfas went back to the DTM. BUT.... for some reason thats probably never going to happen unless some private independent team goes in which seams very unlikely.

Alfa was in DTM in 1994-1995. DTM then was killed by the FIA for no apparent reason. It was started back up a few years ago and took off with popularity, great racing, good street shows. However, costs are out of control and there are rampant rumors of it not answering the bell next year.

Sucks, brittle cars (and very ugly) and too little feel from the std car. :/

Costs are gigantic because the cars have nothing to do with the saloons or coupés on which they are based. They are like earlier silhouette racers or even NASCAR (although the technology is somewhat more advanced) and so Opel decided to call it quits. Rover was rumoured to enter the fray this year but for obvious reasons they didn't.

Don't expect Alfa to either and do expect DTM to die a slow death although the racing is pretty good.

many people forget that the DTM is only a german championship for so called touring cars .
they are not suppose to be international series for now .
toyota are considering going in , as to NASCAR , but they also may find themselves at the WTCC .

alfa was great with the best car at the DTM but now their main aim should go to the WTCC as it more internationly and get more TV .

they should build 159 2 litre for that series .

I read in Autosport that Alfa intended going back into the WTCC with a 147/149 derivative next year for two years before re-evaluating their car choice. Whatever the car it would be great to have a team to cheer on.
