Looking for ALFA 1300 to Hewland adapter

Looking for an adapter to mate a 1300 Alfa (1960's) to a Hewland 8/9 5 speed gearbox for my 1965 Bobsy SR3 sports racer. Any leads?

Jeff Moore at Autoarch.com could probably make you one. He preps and maintains an Alfa powered SR3 for a customer and has fabbed similar for Hewlands in other applications.

Curtis, Jeff and Court Whitlock were in Atlanta for the Mitty. We both run Bobsy's. His is an Alfa 1300 and I'm converting mine which I bought due to Court's love of his. I've run GTVs forever. Jeff doesn't have a Hewland adapter, but will fabricate one if absolutely necessary. I'd rather find one already done. Other leads welcome. Ward.

Hewland adapter

I have a number of cast/machined adapters that came to me from from a fellow Italy (Angelini) who besides GTA's, ran his own sports racers where he needed such an adapter. If interested, I can send photos and the specific model Hewland this adapter is made for.

Rich

please send photos

Yes, please send photos and costs to alfaward@bellsouth.net. Again, I have a 1965 Bobsy SR3 sports racer with a Hewland Mk 8/9 5 speed and an Alfa 1044 motor from the mid 1960's Giulietta range. Thanks, Ward.

That is an Alfa 1300 motor not a 1044, that was my 3 year old typing then.

Ward,
I have an adaptor, but it's pretty crude. Came with the 2nd Bobsy I bought in '84. Both cars had GTAjr engines. I bought an Angelini dry sump pan for my SR3 with GTA engine. It's a neat piece and beats the cobbled up Alfa tin dry sump pan.
Where are you located?
Ed

Ed. and if this is Ed Rucker - we have a lot to discuss.
I am in Atlanta. I bought Richard Barne's SR3 which I think you had something to do with along the way.....I can call you tonight if you like.

email me at alfaward@bellsouth.net if you want to exchange info.

Cheers,
Ward.
