You heard it here first........
OK, Just when we thought we knew the AROSC schedule for the year, John Cote manages to score LAGUNA SECA the weekend of May 17-18!!! Evidentally, there was a last minute cancellation, and Laguna Seca called us (instead of another ((German)) car club) because John was "so nice" to them on the phone. So, next time you see John Cote at one of our events (hint: he will be at the driving school Sunday), you might let him know how much you appreciate his efforts (I assume you want to go to Laguna as bad as I do...). Me personally. I think I'll do the "I'm not worthy" routine from Waynes World. Nice job John!!!!!
On the flip side, that puts the Buttonwillow event (and the AROSC's first ever ENDURO) in a position where we might have to see if we could bump that one back a couple of weeks, since it would only be 2 weeks from our new (and confirmed) Laguna event. I'll keep ya posted.........
Oh, in case you are interested......the track record at Laguna is a 1:07.722 (Hielio Castroneves).

So happy, yet so broke
Awwww yeah!!! Need to start collecting some coin. I'm thinking of doing some time trials, with a big X on my trunk.
Brad, thanks for providing this info.

I'd be able to pass cars with my skateboard down the cork screw, with the speeds the intro groups go.

After you do the school this weekend, you won't be in Intro Group any more.......you'll be time trialing.
So you can pass (in designated areas). I have had the honor and privelege of racing at Laguna with a guy named Len Frank (72 Spider) (1995), who hosted a car-talk radio station in LA, and was a pretty damned good racer. On 3 consecutive laps, we went side-by-side thru the corkscrew.......I eventually beat him in that race, and shortly thereafter, cancer beat him. His ashes were spread around the outside of turn 9 at Willow. Every time someone goes off the trach there, they stir up "The Ghost of Len Frank". That's a good reason NOT to go off in turn 9.
I'll never forget that race, and how great it was to race with Len.

LAGUNA SECA
brad...
wow, laguna seca with arosc in may...makes me wanna bring back the #681 gt junior to an alfa club event. i have decided to run my primary car, the #681 gt junior, only in 2.5 challenge events ( www.bsedan.com) but this could be an exception. both my cousin's GTAm and my brother's giulia super will be broken in by this even so they could join us up front in what will be the greatest alfa cup race ever!

Laguna in MAY?!?! That's GGREAT!! That's less than 4 months away! I can't wait!
Laguna was awesome last Nov... the worst thing about it was knowing it was going to be another year until we'd come back, but now it's less

Umm... my bicycle.
Just kidding... I'll probably take the scooby-mobile and Shannon will most likely bring the es-vee-tee (can't say the "F" word around here )
