jerky video

Hmmm...why, when I view the clip, do I only get a second or two of video, then it stops for a second or two, then starts, etc?
By the way, Great motor sound when he gets a chance to wind it up.

The easiest way to view it is to download the free viewer

Thanks for the heads up on the Tail of the Dragon. Our planned return trip from AlfaDeco is to run the Blue Ridge Parkway north to Jersey and with the Dragon but a stones throw from the Blue Ridge, well...

Speaking of favorite roads, mine has to be US191 in Eastern Arizona from Alpine to Morenci. Over 1000 corners in about 100 miles proves to be quite the workout. There's even a multi-mile stretch on a high plateau where one can 'burn the gunk out' and check terminal velocity. Interesting that the route number was changed in recent years. The old route number? 666. Hmmm...

My mom and dad were married in 1966 and went on their Honeymoon to Las Vegas (from Tampa, FL) in my dad's '64 Porsche 356C, before most major interstates really went anywhere. To this day (now in their '70s), they talk about how they would love to "retire" to the White Mountains of Arizona (problem is, they've been retired for 15 years). They still look for vacation stays in Springerville.

Yeah, if your lucky enough to miss the harley crowd! When I rode my Duc there some harley event was takeing place. It was horrible. Slower than a logging truck with a flat. Finially cleared out about 5:00 pm.

Ah...the Dragon is....uh....tiring....especially when you find it by accident!

Long story short...coming out of Atlanta/Lawrenceville/Buford area...US129 looks like an excellent shortcut between Atlanta and Knoxville. Cut that Chattanooga right out of the picture. Dam.....looked awful straight on the mapquest. North Georgia is just as twisty going up into NC as coming down (the dragon) into TN. I made this run to ....ahmmmm....save time in the rain and to beat the traffic going up I75. Needless to say....quite a road to drive. Luckily in the 92 Spider. Unfortunately raining with the rear loaded down with all sorts of work stuff and luggage. I slid my arse all the way down the dragon. Didn't realize what I was into until I stopped at a gas station and they were selling T Shirts! It is a beautiful drive. Road side water falls, mountain lakes, Cherokee National Forest. Just great scenery and prettiest road this side of the country IMHO. As far as the curves....you are constantly in them going from one to the next with rarely a short straight. You won't get going fast. And you will make the rear diff hum before you are done. I wouldn't bother with a passenger as they'll likely get sick. And you'll likely get a little motion sick too. So make sure your car is up to the task. And watch out for ignorant truckers (18 wheeler boys) who use it to avoid weigh stations. Meet one of those in a curve and you'll be literally under trailer. Bikers run it all the time. Very heavily patrolled by the fuzz. Comes out as Alcoa HWY (I think) in Knoxville.

Best Regards,
John M

Yep, the dragon and the surrounding areas can be tiring! I drove it in an SUV in a light rain! Hey, I had to run what I brung. The wife was getting sea sick, but I was having fun -- a little. Due to the rain, I had the whole thing to myself. We didn't see anyone else going in either direction. There are many great roads in that area, especially leading to and from the dragon from the south and east.
