Track walk
Chip,
You know DAMN WELL that on race weekend, you wake up at 5:30 in your hotel, wondering what time it is, and wonering if it's time to go to the track yet. Don't deny it......I've been doing the same thing for 15 years now.......so, get out of bed, and come walking....it's one of the best things you can learn, and thats how you win time trials! Plus, Steve Luftman is bringing doughnuts!

Ok, you got me... the hardest part will be trying to get Shannon up and moving that early!
Are we running the usual 8 turn configuration? Have you guys ever considered opening up some of the back section during the track sessions (not just the Sunday lapping session)? There's lots of track back there that we don't use until the very end of the weekend, and plus.. the banking it fun

back track
OK Chip..........
It's a secret, but for RACE GROUP, I have been talking to Steve Hamilton about something very cool........Don't know if it will happen for the time trial groups yet, but maybe........????
bradley@vom.com Email me and will send you my proposal....
Remember, my proposal is for RACE GROUP, but everything I do usually overlows to the other groups (like the go-kart track). No guarantees though.......

Anyone bringing a blow torche to unfrezze me?
My orginal plan was to sleep in a tent, but last night I check the weather and it's going to be 1C/12F degrees. I'll freeze in that.
I've been calling a bunch of hotels and everyone is booked!!!
What should I do???
Anyone need me to take care or their trailer over night, so I can sleep in it?

For the last time I'm telling yah! Just sleep in your car. Just lay the passenger seat flat and put your helmet on for head insulation, pillow, and sound silencer. The when the sun comes up all you have to do is hop in the drivers seat and start your motor. Simple as 123.

Great Weekend!
I had a load of fun this weekend and can't wait for the next event.
I snapped some pictures at the event, which will be posted up sometime this week in our photo gallery. Also if you took some digital pictures and would like to share them with AlfaBB, e-mail them to us damnit! AlfaBB@mtmdesign.com
p.s. It was nice meeting all of you I met from the BB.
Nizam, can't wait to see the footage you got, tell us when it's loaded on your site.
Chip, I didn't get to meet you, maybe next time. The SVT on the lapping session was doing really well, smooth. I was 2 cars behind. Felt like passing that over.

Getting ripped off everyday is my modo
I get ripped off everyday, but anyways.
I decided to pay 20 bucks (rip off) for a photo of my car, shot by some willow springs worker. It's a decent picture, but 20 bucks? I had to get it though, I have no cool shots of my car.
This is the first.
p.s. anyone know which turn this is? I have no idea, I was rallying 80% of the time

Snapshots?
Did anyone get a shot of the two Ferraris together on the track during the lunchbreak on Saturday? I had hoped that the folks selling pictures at the track might have one, but they didn't.

I was at the event for a short while on Sunday and I think one of the two Ferraris (blue one) made contact with another car and had some damage. Not sure of the details but they weren't running it after the incident.

Ferrari Damage
The accident was a "racing incident", and the damage to the Ferrari was rather minor (broken hub, broken axle). It has already been fixed, I am told, and is on it's way to Sears Point for testing on Tuesday and Wednesday. As for the Cateram that was also involved, I didn't see it, but I hear the front left suspension took a pretty good hit.

COOL!
Snaidy, is there any way you could email me a high-resolution version of that, or mail it to me on a disc?? I would love to have a good copy. That was probably the highlight of my driving career, getting a chance to chase John Morton around that track in that Ferrari. I thought he would have left me in the dust, but he couldn't shake me loose! He was faster than me in a couple of places, and I was faster than him in a few. I was in the blue car.
The first race I ever went to was a Trans Am race at Laguna Seca in 1971. I was 7 years old, and John Morton won the race in the BRE Datsun 510. It was a huge honor to instruct with him, and even more awesome to dice with him for 30 minutes during the lunch break in a Ferrari race car. After we came off the track, he came over and said "You know, you're a pretty good driver! You could race at Daytona, you're better than a lot of those guys." I'll never forget it!
