I am so ready for F1 that I'm tingling!! Here on the east coast the pre-race starts at 6:00am, and the race at 6:30am. It's on Speed TV. I'll be in front of the TV at 6:00am sharp! Haway the lads - Ferrari, Button, Coulthard! Woo hoo!

1st start for 2006

Looks like the Italian cars will lead the way for the start of the 2006 season.

The two Ferraris share the front row. Massa just beaten by 0.047 s

Schumacher Massa
Button Alonso
Montoya Barrichello
Webber Klien

The new qualifying format is ok, you get to see more of the cars.
Saw it live on Belgian Tv.

Any thoughts on the new qualifying system. I got the sense that it is more exciting for those in attendance, but doesn't translate to TV as well as the single car qualifying system did. Of course, this was the first time out with this new system and it did seem the TV producers and announcers were having a hard time finding their footing. The last 4+ minutes of the first session (after Kimi's mishap) were pretty exciting with all the cars on the track.

I was pretty impressed with Scott Speed. Actually, both of the drivers for the former Minardi team looked pretty good. Can't wait for the race tomorrow, my son and I are recording it and will watch at about 7:30 CST.

Steve

I can hardly wait! Kind of surprised by the Ferraris showing. Who knows about anyones fuel loads. I still think Honda may have an edge. I'd like to see Button win his first. Massa looks really strong. Should be a good battle.

Ferraris are just uber-light on fuel to sell some Malboros in Bahrain, which is the first reason they are going there in the first place.

F1 is back!

Great race!

Well driven race by Alonso. He didn't break under the pressure from Michael. Excellent drive by Kimi from the back of the field to finish on the podium. Young Nico Rosberg was very impressive as well.

It looks like there are a number of competitive cars this year.
I'm looking forward to Montreal.

What an absolutely fantastic season opener!! Great close-quarters racing, and Ferrari once again in form. Had Massa not blown it, followed closely by their pit crew blowing it, he'd have finished in the points. I am so happy that Ferrari appears to be back.

So, did Jenson have the measure of Rubens? With Rubens' 3rd gear kaput, who knows? I wish Jenson all the best this season.

And last, as a Kimi-hater, I will continue to wish that all of McLaren-Mercedes' bad luck to fall on Kimi, not JPM. I'm NOT saying that Kimi can't drive. Quite the opposite is true. I just can't stand HIM for some reason. So, with his huge talent acknowledged, I'm sure glad he started from the back of the grid...otherwise he'd have won the bleedin' thing!!

Ahhh...my beloved F1 is back in business...all is right with the universe again! Cheers everyone!

David

What a great race. Although Ferrari didn't win, I still enjoyed it a whole bunch. There were a lot of little battles going on out on the track the whole race. I think Rosberg is a good addition to Williams. Look out of him.

Stewart/Jaguar is now Red Bull. Jordan is now Midland, Arrows is now Super Aguri (with 3 year old cars), and Minardi is now Torro Rosso.

Oh, and Sauber is now BMW fully, as BAR is Honda only.

Help?

Eric

Red Bull Cosworth not to be confused with Red Bull (Toro Rosso) Ferrari.
