67mm x 60 mm Alfa sportsracer engine?

Ok fellows, I'm aware of 1100cc Alfa motors built for SCCA G Modified or C/Sports Racing in Bobsy SR-2, SR-3 and other chassis, but I'm staring at a 1315 32XXX block (and what appears to be a 101 1300 head) that has a lot of very special stuff in it. The measured bore is 67mm and the measured stroke is 60mm for a calculated displacement of 846cc. Perfect for H Modified or D/Sports Racing in SCCA.

The engine came with a dry sump pan and pump that was "taken" as part of the "brokerage" deal and is no longer with the motor, but after removing the head, the combustion chamber is NOT 74 or 75mm OD but matches the piston dome at 67mm. The valve sizes are 34mm intake and exhaust, using 101 followers, valve springs and cams.

This is an engine that was put together long ago and appears to have hardly any time on it. Ron Neal at AUSCA at Knauz, perhaps?

I've searched old and new copies of the CAS (CRH) and can't find a thing, but somebody spent a heck of a lot of time on this thing and it would be quite remarkable to see it back vintage racing.

If anyone has an idea on the provenence of this lump, please let me know. Thanks, Peter

VERY obscure!!! Could it be a hydroplane variant?? I've never heard of any such configuration... even with some of the La Verda motorcycle engines... which included 3 cylinder (using 101 1300 pistons and valve gear in an air cooled one liter power plant). I would love to hear any info on this one!

I have several special racing crankshafts (Angelini) with strokes of:

53mm
58mm
59mm
72mm (may keep for a special project)

I will post photos if there is a serious interest.

Thanks,
