Katherine Legge Minardi Test
Given the "style over substance" debate in this forum during Indy over Danica Patrick and her PR machine, I thought I would post news on Katherine Legge's recent test with Minardi at Vallelunga. She ran 27 laps and posted a top time of 1:21.17, 3 seconds faster than Minardi tester Chanoch Nissany but slightly slower than fellow invitee Uruguayan driver Juan Caceres. Outgoing Minardi team boss Paul Stoddard opined that Katherine "has what it takes" to drive in F1. She had an accident early in the session and the team was impressed by her ability to rebound from it and post competitive times.
As those of you that follow women in motorsports know, Katherine won three times this year in Formula Atlantic (something Danica never managed) and is generally considered to be a serious driver with the skill to win in F1, Champ Cars, or the IRL. Her preference has been for F1 or Champ Cars over IRL oval racing.
