Insane Racing Video

No Alfa Romeo content but this footage is too good not to share.

http://alliancemotorsport.org/video/2005audi.wmv

Although the video link says its a AUDI it is in fact the car from this page.

Hows that for a canyon racer?

That car has some mad acceleration, when you watch the guys hands moving all the time, its no wonder they moved to paddle shifters

Cool video. Hillclimbing really is a thrill ride, even if it only lasts for a couple of minutes. I love all the skid marks in the braking zones...

Reminds Me of Something.... Oh, Yeah, I Remember Now....

Remove the spectators, add some opposing traffic and lots of tall trees and you'd have the Santa Cruz Mountains Tour of a couple of months ago..... OK, maybe not, but it was enthusiastically driven.

Makes me want to head up to Sears Pt and blast around the track. Now that I think about it I should watch this right before the next race weekend (2006 , darn)! - George

THere is no paddle shifter in that car. He is shifting that thing with a normal shifter on the right. Impressive.

Also note how tight the space is around his hands. There is no question in my mind that in the heat of the moment my hand would get in the wrong place trying to get back on the wheel (ham fisted driver here). I guess I'd better stick with running in more leisurely vintage races. - George
