Insuring a race car for storage?
How do you racers manage this? I just want the race car insured against theft, fire, natural disaster, etc. while it's in off-site storage. Can you get such a policy?

Arash, contact Starke Shelby at NW Ins on Mercer Isl. He races a Giulia Super and insures, among other things, collector cars. 1-206-230-0203. He has insured my street and race cars for years.

Thanks, George, you've always got a good answer for me. I'm getting the feeling you've been around the block once or twice. I've give your guy a call on Monday. My State Farm people had no clue, nor did their recommended underwriters.

yes, I have Heacock's storage, transport and paddock (STP) insurance on my race cars. I have also made a claim and been very happy.

Thanks for the referrals. I'm squared away now with insurance. I was a bit surprised at how uninformed my regular insurance company (and their underwriters) were about these things.
The racer is in hibernation for now as I get my racebikes rebuilt, but she's in the queue to get buttoned up for next season.
