In-car race video (Alfetta GTV)
From the Race at Knutstorp (Sweden) this Sunday, I qualified third (in the wet) and by the time the race was on the track was almost completely dry.
I have a little less power then some of the guys in the field and the track was a little wet on the side I started on...
Anyway, here is the video, enjoy!

Hi Mats,
Great video!
I have to join you boys. Since I am Norwegian it would be easy to participate in your races. What does it take? I have a norwegian race licence and a race licence on my car. It is Appendix K (historic), so you will probably beat me, but who knows!-)
What modifications are allowed and how do I join in? I´ll drive my 1600 GT with 2000 engine. ..and most importantly, when and where is the next race?
Hälsningar från Christer

I just threw this puppy toghether with the editing tools available in XP so as you would guess I don't get a great deal of freedom in how to encode it. I'll try to make a DivX version later on...
Heavy Metal: I could have passed him several times, I need to toughen up...
Tjena Christer: Yes please join us! License should be valid (if not the EU f**ks it up) and your historic papers should be good too.
All info on how to join is available on www.alfaromeo.org or you can send me a private message and I'll help you.
Next race is in the beginning of August at Kinnekulle.

Bump steer
That guy in the yellow milano seems to have a poor set of brakes, especially in turn 1. Did you send him the bill from your body shop?

great footage there. a shame though, to be passed on the last lap. it looked like the alfetta sedan was holding you up a bit. i kept thinking "maybe i would dive inside here... or even here" if i were driving
it would have been cool to see a rearwad mounted view as well! i saw you checking your mirrors from time to time and i was wondering what was going on back there.
good luck next race!

Lawtonmk: No contact, curbs makes the camera a little uneasy...
redmist: It's not an Alfetta Sedan, it's a Giulia Super with a 75 T engine. Looking at it afterwards from the sofa I feel like there are about ten to fifteen times I could have overtaken him but when you sit there all you think about is how bad you will feel if the driver in front of you fail to notice you on the inside and turns in...
I do need to toughen up though, I should have won that race and not finished third (in my class) :/
Oh, by the way, this was what was happening behind me:
So not just as easy as driving past the guy in front of me, need to keep the other guys behind me...

That was a cool video, Mats!
BTW - there is now a WMV plugin for Quicktime players. The video is much smoother than Windows Media Player. It's called "WMV Player" for Quicktime. So no, I don't need the DIVX player anymore (the videos played by it are too choppy for my old, slow, computer).

That was awesome Mats! I have never raced, but this makes me wonder whether I should. I LOVED your chase of the Giulia!!! A shame the the 75 passed you in the last lap. Please keep sharing!!!

Great video, very exciting to watch . Who cares that you didn't pass that blue car it was obvious that you could, and being as close as were to him made for some great footage.
That orange 75 gave me scare
