Not much bandwidth on the server for such big files. It took almost half an hour to download, should have been just 3 minutes on my 3 Mbps line - which dl's fine from other sources.

matts the vids are great i think you should do a season video diary so we can all live the moments with you. your car looks as though it handles and brakes extremely well just it looks like as you said you are down a bit on power. good luck with this season and i hope to see many more videos soon

Thanks Mats for video looked and sounded great. Distinctive rattle of an Alfetta GTV exhaust at end of lap.Soften those exhaust mountings particularly the one. at the bell housing.Speedo disconnected is this to save weight of huge cable.

My bandwidth is 10Mbps upload, 100Mbps download full duplex so I think the bottleneck is somewhere else, like the Atlantic cable or something?

Thanks, chassis is good and the power, well, it's in the work...
I'll try to get a homepage up with videos a little more accessible and with some notes to make it more interesting. With a bit of luck I'll be doing some 8 races this season, four of them together with a very different crowd like spaceframe cars with 8 liter V8's... Hopefully that will give me som nice footage.

Speedo is disconnected because the Gearbox is based on a 75 box i.e. electronic speedo.
Exhaust rattle? I think not, the only standard part in the whole exhaust system is the nuts holding it to the head.
The rattle you hear is actually two things:

1. The rear tyres are severly flatspotted, had them on as fronts before and when a rookie driver slammed on the brakes about 50m before my regular breaking marker I was quite suprised, locked up the wheels for about 20 meters and was about 10-20cm from his tailgate... These flatspots cause the slightly worn spherical bearing in the front de-Dion fixing point to make an awful clanking noise.
2. Since the car has coil-overs up front I have a "strut brace" over the engine, this is a little tight and hits the right-middle valvecover nut. Terrible racket at idle when stationary, most people react like this: in the pits when walking by.

Hi Mat
So you have a 75 transaxle from a 2L twinspark? I think I saw in one of your other threads you also have a 4.3 diff. Based on Aus models the 75 box comes standard with a 4.1 diff. A 4.3 diff would have come from a post 1981 Alfetta GTV.
The reason I ask is that I am about to change my 1979 GTV box with 4:1 diff to a 1984 GTV box with 4.3 diff and also add LSD to it. A 75 2L twinsapark box already has LSD but standard ratios appear to be the same as 1984 box except 1st & 2nd. So did you take mainshaft and crownwheel with 4:3 diff from Alfetta box and put in the 75 box? Was the gear selector mod for 75 box tricky to do or not? What were your impressions of the change over in gearboxes and diff in you car?
Regards
Martyn

I switched the output shaft and crown wheel fron 4.1 to 4.3 in the 75 box (not easy, needs some skills to adjust the hypoid gears to engage correctly) and just switched out the gear selector rod, very easy.

I have some outside footage from other tracks and this track from -04, I'll try to edit something for you. Don't hold your breath though, lots of stuff needs attention in the garage.

Some more footage, this is the first two races of the -06 season at Gelleråsen racetrack. Partly cloudy and cold winds, perfect for racing. The track was changed during the winter to get a larger run-off area in the first turn so that part of the track is new for everybody.

Race 1 [52Mb]

Race 2 [64Mb]

As per usual, comments/questions and feedback is welcome.
