Getting the front door panels off?

I'm finally getting around to doing front speakers! Is there some trick to it? I know there is one screw under the lock, are there any others? Also, if there aren't, how do I get them off/back on?

Remove the lock plunger by flipping its top open, then with an allen key un-screw it.

Above the interior door release handle there is an integrated armrest and handle. You will notice that the handle has a plastic "panel" on it. Carefully pop that off. There is a large Philips screw behind there.

Then gently prise the plastic triangle from the door, near the side mirrors.

Pull the door panel out carefully and the plastic clips will begin to come away. Some will break every time you do this.

Once the clips are all freed. You need to "lift" the panel up so that it comes "unhooked" from the door seal.

For some reason I find this procedure easier to do with the windows down at the time.

HTH,
Simon

hi,

get a small flat blade screwdriverand lever off the cover on the door pull,

there are two screws under there

then loosen the screw that holds the door lock indicator and pull it off,

then i start from the bottom rear corner and carefully stick the small flatblade screw driver between the door and the door card and lever it off, then work your way round the door popping off all the clips.

then lift up the door card off the window trim,

make sure all the clips are lined up properly and that the handle is lined up when putting it all back together....

have fun

simon

Also to remember:
- Have something under the door to catch the broken clips.
- While you have the panel off, look at the top part of the door handle. They tend to crack leaving the bolt hole portion behind.
I fixed mine by making a metal "L" bracket, pop rivited to the handle.
- And, remember there are speakers with wires attached to the car!!!!

Just put new speakers up front, door panels on and off no problem! No clips broken! 2 hours of very laid back 40 degrees outside labor at my house!

Thanks for your replies a long time ago
