So the inside mirror fell off, sort of

Due to the snow and some lack of judgement my inside mirror fell off along with the clip that holds it in. Is it possible to get the mirror back on that ball thing? How? and how did I get the thing that holds it up back in?

Got the mirror back onto the ball, need to get ball/spring thing in. Do I just push with all my might or is there a trick?
