Saw this thread a few days ago and was skeptical about the lack of a pinchbolt at the front of the driveshaft. Fast forward to today and I'm a believer!! Pulled an engine out of an old gold Milano salvage vehicle that Sam and I have had for years and low and behold, no pinchbolt. They ARE out there.

Those little bearings are available, at least for a TS. Expensive little buggers at 22 UKP each though!

I used a bearing puller to pop the outer race off then cut the inner with a cutting disc in a Dremel. Unfortunately the matching cup in the end of the driveshaft is worn so I plan to swap that for one from an old donut.

It's been years since I've had one of these things apart, but aren't those bolts installed incorrectly? Every second one is meant to face the opposite way. It's no big deal, and not worth pulling it apart for, but somehow I think they are wrong.

what exactly is the pinch bolt or does anyone have a pic of it? i'm not sure but on my milano, i don't remember seeing any kind of pinch bolt or anything that allow adjustment of the driveshaft length.
