Copper tubing has a tendancy to break at the flared connections. Even the newer Nickel copper.

You see this is the stuff I hear that interests me. Is the above hearsay, or is it based on personal experience? Please understand this is a geniune question, not an attempt to 'dis' your statement. The industry on the one hand, claims that the Copper/Nickel is better, but then they would. On the other hand, these stories of brittleness persist... So, as I say, is this from direct personal experience? or from third (or more) party info?

Many thanks,

Ed.

today i have found these calipers. I don´t know if they´re the same. They are in a old Volvo, i think 140, but they´re 4 pistons.

This is the car.

I was close to buy them. they were asking just 120 € for both calipers, but i was not sure. It looks that something is different.
Also i have find these ones, but they were asking for 1000 €. they were in a Lancia Kappa. with a Alfa 3.0 24 v engine. I think every is the same as the 164. these,as minimum, must to be to fit ia a 16" or 17" rims.

That's the venerable Volvo 164E (straight six OHV/iron block). Iron calipers too. From what everyone is saying, the mounting ears are equidistant to the Milano Brembo's, but offset (to the disc) is different. Those Brembo's off the Lancia will not fit on the Milano hub. Those look like the one's Spence currently has sitting in a box. I suppose you could design a billet mounting bracket (like GiroDisk) to be able to mount it, but if you're already digging in junkyards for the calipers, I don't think you'll be designing and comissioning the CNC machining of mounting brackets.

Well, if that's the case, why rummage around for 30 year-old calipers? You may as well go out and get a set of front calipers from a Volvo 850 T-5R and have your handy friends fit 'em for you, yes?

Wasn't talking about myself... i'm pretty handy myself. i do have friends who can make me things i ned, i don't own a cnc-machine but one of my friends does.

I actually have a set of 156 v6 24v brakes lying around which i plan to fit on my Giulietta. these are not the brembo's but the ordinary 284mm discs with sliding calipers. rear brakes will go in the wheels. i will make templates and stuff to make it fit and the final stuff will be cnc machined...

Car manufacturers don't use PU-bushings due to the fact that the NVH characteristics are a joke and it won't last nearly as long as natural rubber bushings.

That's a fact.
