Serious money!

Just had a real shock...

I'm in need of a new oil pump for my 75 and have been told they're NLA in New Zealand! No problem there but I was told that when they were available they cost USD$680.00

I'm beginning to love the internet!!!!

IAP Welcome to International Auto Parts lists the pump for US$ 280.00, still not cheap but... and they list it as in stock.
Good luck

Did they tell you why you needed a new oil pump? How many miles have you got on your 75? Is is a 4 banger or 6? What viscosity oil do you normally run? Many times, it's just the oil pressure relief valve spring that gives out. The 12v V6 engines are notorious for bad pressure sensors. All three of the V6's I've owned would display almost no pressure, or bouncing at idle (after warmed up). If the pump has been going bad due to wear of the gears, you may very well have a total rebuild ahead of you - the pump at that point would be the least of your worries.

The only thing I have ever bought through Alfa NZ was an oil filter and washer for $40, which I consider highway robbery for Fiat parts.

Everything else I have priced has been in excess of twice the price I could have it delivered from EB Spares, and they never had anything in stock anyway.

You are lucky having the 3.0 that you can get parts from all the US suppliers (love that exchange rate at the moment!). Most of the twinspark parts I've needed have been available from the UK only.

Hi all...

My bad! It's the pressure relief spring not the pump (second opinions are a wonderful thing!)... I picking that the pressure sender is good as it was replaced not that long ago after it gave out and dumped oil all over the motor!
