Brake upgrade
Hi
I allways thougth that my 75 had a problem about itīs braking.
The problem is not that is doesnīt have brake power (it does...it even blocks the wheels!) but instead I think it doesnīt "bite". It just wonīt bite until you put your foot down hard and then the wheels will block.
I tried to solve this problem by fitting a master cylinder recovery kit, braided hoses and dot 5.1. Got better but not enuff...damn!
So, what do you guys think I should do beside not braking at all

Unless you are on the track the OMP pads sound like they are too hard. On my Time Trial Milano I used stock for the street - thay worked fine - and changed to race metallics for the track.

I have recently retired from Time Trials but have run at Lime Rock, Pocono, Watkins Glen and way back even at Bridgehampton. My prepped Milano was mortally wounded on night when a tree removed the passenger side so I installed all of it's running gear in a 1981 GTV6 with a blown engine I found in Texas

How did the brakes hold up for you when you were racing? I think my rear brakes are getting too hot, but I could be fading at both ends of the car!

The rear brakes will fade!!!! Some people fabricate two sheetmetal scoops to direct air to the calipers which apparently works pretty well. I removed the two fog lights from the front, cut the backs off the housings and install a flex duct from there to the front calipers. Worked perfectly. Mind you the car is underbraked on the track especially if the engine is tweaked so you have to pay attention to how hot your brakes are getting

That's pretty sweet. I've had a moderate brake upgrade (FD calipers, Supra Turbo rotors) for the front, but I haven't installed it yet because the rear brakes seem like the weak link! SZ upgrade is expensive now too.

Check out the brake package by Group 2 Motorsports. I have been running it on my Milano for two years now, and it is a total solution.

I have Porsche (Brembo) brakes in the front, no problems since then, no bleeding needed at the track.
If you can grab the older 156/147 GTA calipers (smaller type) and a bigger rotor, that should more than adequate for the 75.
My setup with 2-piece rotors (aluminum hat) cost me $1100+ I think. I don't have much problems in the rear, although eventually I may get vented rears. Only problem is, space is tight back there and you can barely fit a 2.5" exhaust pipe even with the non-vented discs.
