Question! Anybody by-pass V6 ING

I would like to get the full Rpm out of my motor this year. the rev limiter is pissing me off. The module that is located on the Passenger kick panel(0 227 921 036--spark module rev 6500rpm) i would like to trash it. I have 3.5 liter conversion with heads&cams done, everything but the ignition. On top end, it would really nice to have extra 1000 rpm . The problem is everybody I talk to never finished the conversion. Some did stroker left the head and intake stock, I did intake runners, lower intake heads including the vavle size (pain bum don't care what anybody says HARD) pump and injector. Great-- but ignition was only thing that my engine guy couldn't do, He's BMW boy and the alfa 75/miliano didn't share the same ECM type. If i would gone the 3.7 liter way(24 vavle mod kit,164 super) it would been easrier but the torgue is down, it using multi coil packs the rev 7200 stock easy to hack the ecm. The ecm specialist for Bosch told me that (Jim Conforti)till i didn't get that module out. Rev still there. the Ecm was hack to increase my injector pulse, and custom cams,air-to fuel ratio. So anybody that has played with this please help. Bimmer guys are only ones that got me to this point, but there cars never had a chance to use our style injection they skipped it so did Alfa 1990 euro spec 164 till& SFI now. 4-cams. Hope didn't confuse anybody but all the Alfa guys that say they work on them answer the same I don't know! In North America, so hopefully some Euro gear head would Know! some body else loves Alfa's as much as me!(to Bimmer owners Alfa is real driven Machine)PS: Own one german(BMW) winter beater myself

What are you using for an ECU? If you use something like a Megasquirt you can set the redline to whatever you want. I'd imagine the other aftermarket ECUs would be the same.

On the standard Bosch ECU the rev limiter is controlled by a resistor on the circuit board.

Contact Greg Gordon at www.hiperformancestore.com and he can set it anywhere you like!

you could take the distributor, ignition coil and module of a GTV 6 to replace the 75 items and ignition ecu . It has a mechanical advance. Use the rotor of the 75 because an original GTV 6 rotor has a build in rev limiter.
