I'm a big advocate for lightweight wheels. Try a set of super lightweight (10-11lbs ea) wheels on your Milano/75 and you'd swear you just added some horsepower to the car, and/or upgraded the suspension.
The Volk TE37's or SSR Type C's are good ol' standbys for lightweight 16-inchers. They are between 10-11lbs depending on the width. As a reference point, the stock 15" Verde phonedials are 20lbs. Yikes!
The aforementioned rims are forged, which also makes them quite strong. But, with the lightness and strength, the one thing that has to give is cost. That said, I still stand by my conviction that by reducing the (unsprung) weight at each corner, you have a lot to gain. Combine this with lightweight tires (yes, not all tires are created equal), you'll immediately realize the benefits; especially on our old cars.
I am now running 17's for my track car, and finding sub-12lb wheels are harder but they're out there as long as you're willing to shell out the moolah.
Finally, to the original poster: what's your definition of "best"? Best looking? Best price? Best performance? Best price? Or the always troublesome and subjective ... "best value"?
